A few months back I seen a post with a pic in it that represented the different shapes and sizes of some WWll heavy ammo. They were of osti and whirble rounds with a few others thrown in. I've searched over and over looking for that thread but just can not find it using different search terms that I remember. The pic might have been of models or the real thing and were in someones living room. It was about 3 months ago if not a little more.
I was able to find this one but not the thread I was looking for. Anyone remeber the thread?

A few years back at one of the Con's Pyro graciously showed me his office. In his he had a very nice collection of different rounds used. One of the best I have seen. Wish I had a picture of it.
Great pictures in that linked thread. All it is missing is a reference. Someone should stand next to the casings, or maybe just place a pencil or coffee cup near them so people who are unfamiliar with the sizes could get an idea of just how big or how small they are.

Nope, thats not it .
The pic I seen had maybe 6 large shells ranging from maybe 3 feet to 1 foot.
I'll look some more and If i find it I'll post the link and pick here.

75mm 40mm 23mm 303 .45
-
The far right case is to long to be a standard .45 and looks more like a .357 magnum to me. I dont know the larger calibers very well but Id venture to say..
75mm, 20mm, 23mm, 303, and 357 magnum
It would help to know if they are all from the time period.

The shell said something I couldn't read on it. It said something like "22-45" or something like that.

lol ive shot more than enough .22 to recognise that, dam that lack of scale!

It was bigger than a .22 definately. It was just a wierd size like "22-45" or "25-40" really really akward. :noid
