Gilligan's Island - I'm a Ginger guy.
Oiy, Over time, due to my age and falling standards, I've gone from a Ginger type of guy, to Mary Ann, and finally I've decided I would settle for Mrs. Howell at my current age. :( Fortunately, my standards won't go any lower (such as Skipper...)
-
I'd have to say though as a KID nothing beat Speed Racer.
I lived for that show.

I understand the gay community is raving about the new Speed Racer movie that has come out recently. (Slipknot told me in his other personna) :devil

Gilligan-in-drag maybe?
Well...maybe after a few beers, after 2am, and when the heart beat stops in my chest...

You have GOT to be kidding! I was a Mary Ann man since I was a kid watching it in prime time. I had it all figured out: the 1st day on the island, I would explore to be certain that it was really deserted. The 2nd day, I would spend whittlin' old PeaceKeeper from a stout piece of wood. The 3rd day, the pecking order would be established. The Professor would invent stuff for my convenience, the Skipper and Gilligagan would be my servants, Mr. and Mrs. Howell would do the cooking. Mary Ann and Ginger would be personal friends of mine.
More fantansies from that era....
...Judy on lost in Space
...Barbara Eden on I Dream of Jeannie
...Linda Evans on The Big Valley (I didn't even like the show because of the Shatner-esque over acting of Barbara Stanwyck! I still wake up at night screaming...)
...even Samantha on Bewitched.
I was a horny kid.

might as well. Mrs howel was the only one not doing anyone.
she Stopped putting our years before that fateful voyage.
Ginger ever wanting fame and stardom was seducing Mr Howel in hopes that when they got rescued he would finance her movie carreer.
Mary Anne (the hotter of the two IMO)
Was doing the Professor because she was a secret kinkster and liked all the fun kinky gadgets he would invent.
And the Skipper. Well he wasnt calling Gillagan his "little buddy" for nothing :)

I watched Takeshi's Castle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takeshi%27s_castle) (Filipino dub) religiously in the Philippines when I was a kid during the early 90s.
Philippine TV stations used to be flooded with American shows, Jap game shows/anime, and Mexican telenovelas.
To this day jap/american shows are still solid while Mexican Telenovels fell out of favor (we just simply got bored with the formulaic plots...)
NOTE: American shows don't get dubbed in Filipino because English is the 2nd official language in P.I. and we are expected to understand it.
----------
Now the latest craze there (said by my cousin via AIM) is the Han Ryu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_wave) (Korean Wave) of dramas, k-pop songs and fashion...
I think I felt the effects of Korean wave after I sampled a show a short drama called Love in Palace (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goong)
(yep, it sounds really cheezy!)

used to watch combat with my dad as a kid. was flipping though the channels a few weeks ago and sat though an entire episode......and ya know what? the show holds up to the test of time. it was a damn good show........and it still is.
-
Out Of The Clear Blue Of The Western Sky comes.........Sky King!
What about Amos `n Andy??????????
-
zeta.. you can buy the entire series of combat and you are correct.. it holds up with time.. It is both action and drama and promotes masculine values and morals.
There really is nothing like it for the little metrosexuals to watch today.

I could sometimes get "Victory At Sea" on PBS. I really loved that show as a kid. Also, "The World At War" I would drop anything I was doing at the time to watch.
-
Grew up on 25 acres with a river. Thankfully dad let me have a BB gun and an old army helmet and canteen. Spent many days playing war and building forts. Mom would only let me watch TV on Saturday mornings when Looney Tunes came on and even then I had to go outside when it was over. That was in the 80s. Wish I was back in them days again. Fond fond memories.
-
Happy Days
A-Team
Perry Mason
M*A*S*H (that one was forced, but eventually I decided that I liked that one)
Plus, saturday cartoons were in a whole different league than todays crappy cartoons.

We've got all of the season/series sets. Seems like there's 30 boxes to that set. Anyhow, our 11 year old watches them in order over & over. He's hooked. :)
Also, the Rat Patrol (is that right?) we've got he set to... and that always takes a turn in the rotation.
-
this is easy
The Incredible Hulk
cartoon was Thundar the Barbarian
Saturday kung fu theater,
Creature double feature
Dukes of Hazzard.
-
Gawd I'm old- as a kid it was Rin Tin Tin and Sky King, older it was Rawhide and Bonanza... For 500 perc points, anyone remember the name of Clint Eastwood's character on Rawhide? No fair Googling the answer.
-
Rowdy something...
-
I just bought all the episodes of route 66 and it holds up well too.. very fun to watch.
"Have Gun, Will Travel" is one of the best westerns you can buy and watch now.
I too spent most of my time outdoors so I mostly watched shows in re run years later. Now, If I want to watch a series I will rent of buy it and cut out about 15 hours of commercials per season.

You could cut crime in the USA by 50% if only TV land was allowed to broadcast after school :aok
When I got home from school, it was Gilligan, The Flinstones, and I love Lucy. Now its DNA tests and whole lot of bleeping. I'd say we failed. Our mind expanded drug generation, was so stupid, we failed.

Would you like to know what the difference is between that program list and a modern program list? No matter what your tastes in entertainment might be, the older list offers three solid hours of quality entertainment; a modern list doesn't even come close to that.
