Obama Asks His Top Donors To Help Clinton With Debt
LOS ANGELES -- Two days ahead of his meeting in Washington with Hillary Clinton's top donors, Barack Obama has urged his own biggest givers to help retire her $10 million vendor debt.
Obama used the occasion of a conference call Tuesday afternoon to ask members of his national finance team to contribute to the Clinton cause "if they had the means to do so," a campaign aide said.
Clinton ended May more than $22.5 million in debt, with the majority of that money owed to herself. According to campaign finance filings, the vendors the campaign used most heavily included a number of firms run by longtime Clinton loyalists: Denver-based Media Strategies & Research, which bought advertising time; the polling firm Penn, Schoen & Berland; the voter-database firm Catalist; and Grunwald Communications, a media consultant.

It's a traditional thing for both the Dems and Reps. Helps with party unity I guess.
Not in any way unusual but kind of funny. Hill spends loads at the last minute trying to beat Obama and Obama gets to pay for her effort.

my thoughts exactly toad..

Good for Obama, I like seeing the Democratic party come together. It's gonna be a great election year, I think both sides are going to have plenty of ammunition.

I think a better idea would have been for obama to petition his top donors to help hillary.......with the caveat being that 50% of the donations go to a specific charity. that in and of itself would have shown real compassion..and most likely doubled the amount.

I favor the new "We're Screwed! '08" bumper sticker.
I think I'll buy a dozen or so to give to the discerning.

Well I'm sure your idea of compassion is tainted with right leanings and when you look for fault, you usually find it, if it's there or not.
As long as the bumper sticker isn't, "BushIII We're screwed again 08"
-
So right leaning people can't be truly compassionate? :lol
And all right leaning people find fault where there is none? :rofl
Guys like you are very entertaining.
If I were to make the bumper sticker, I'd probably have it as "Either way We're SCREWED '08"
-
Actually, the bumper sticker should read, "We're still screwed '08'".
-
Toad, I find you pretty entertaining too, you don't think Zeta is unbiased? I never said the right wing wasn't compassionate nor did I say right wing people find fault where there is none. I believe I was addressing the op, but there's nothing like painting with a broad stroke.
-
There are times when using a "broad stroke" is more efficient than trying to cover everything with a napkin. Particularly when what you are covering what is akin to Mt. Everest.
-
I believe I was addressing the op, but there's nothing like painting with a broad stroke.
There is nothing that indicates you were addressing Zeta, that post of yours comes right after a post of mine and it refers to the bumper sticker.
That is why I thought you were addressing my post.
I'm sure you do feel there's nothing like painting with a broad stroke. Otherwise you wouldn't do it so often, correct?

We're just as screwed no matter who makes it in. We wouldn't be any less screwed if Bush had lost either campaign for the White House. We're just screwed all the way around until American's wake up and stop voting Republican and Democrat since both of those parties perpetually have their heads up their anal orifices. For some reason this message never seems to sink in for those who need it most.

I'll take one of those bumper stickers Toad, thanks. :rock

toad.. I want two of those bumper stickers... I think that one on the lincoln and one on the el camino would be a good contrast.
Was listening to NPR and they had on so called politcal satirists .. everything was funny to them unless it was about osamabama... Some even said that their career would be over if he won because they really wouldn't be able to make fun of such a great man of negro persuassion (them being white and all) but.. then they realized that they could still make fun of people who disagreed with him.
they brought up that jon stewart bombed really badly when he tried to do humor about osamabama.

Wasn't entirely a bomb, but he did bring in a black guy to goof on Obama's money scandal.

I don't make them and I have nothing to do with this website but here's where you can get 'em.
