Talk about a toolshedders delight, on a day like today not a single plane would have flown during the war in these conditions. Why not add ufo's with laser beams to hover over a target and pork with glee? I used to be able to come and find decent fights, when you start to cater to the scrubs you'll have a tough time bringing in anything but.

I love it. It's a change of pace from the MA. early evenings there's about 60 people on thats when the fights starts.

I think this may be needed for future AvA discussions. It is nice when trolls reproduce.

How real do you want it to get? :huh

well the good news is that from this point forward the place can only get better, it really has no other choice. sad to read commentary like this especially in what once was the premier arena to find a fight. I guess this is living proof of what occurs when leaders cater to the whims of the least common denominator.
don't worry VWE this too shall pass.

Umm.. This does produce a delicate and difficult dilemma. Who is going to tell the 50 plus players on last night enjoying true inflight weather conditions that they weren't really having a good time, poor misguided dweebs that they are, they actually thought they were enjoying themselves.

Actually we couldn't get over at how great it was last night with Chili behind us in a b17 and I was in the tail gun of Old Bulls 17 , Watching 109's and 190's dropping in from behind the black hole sun , At first they where just little dots in the clouds ,then they would disappear. For a good 1/2 hour you where not in a game but you felt as if you where there. The weather, clouds at times got other people disoriented to the point forcing you to use instruments . When it was all over with I realized how much better this arena gotten already and its definitely going to get better
Hats off and a :salute to the staff and whoever was in the 109 and 190 last night

Well said Bull. All I can remember when we first came into AH was how strange it seemed that such a well set up arena would draw only 10 to 15 people a night....and over the entire map, all of the activity (as little as it was) took place in one grid.... It seemed like such a waste. I mean, it was nothing more than another duelling arena.
Now there are 60 plus a night having a miserable time enjoying themselves.
As for weather conditions.....it makes it different and keeps it new.

RAP---was unreal .The weather has put a whole new twist to it .
No longer can you bomb straight out when ever you want .
You can not just go look for a fight , you have to find it then when you think you find them
you can fly right over or under an enemy and not even know it .
Wind aspect is incredible on all points of flight.
All we need now is snow, sleet or rain and we will be complete I think.
Imagine having wings ICE up on you .
Hope to see you on :salute

Just curious VWE.....how "realistic" is it to up from a field and meet the enemy half way to his field INTENTIONALLY? Even better yet, how realistic is it to plan such a meeting on an open frequency? Reality has left the AvA? Seems to me a bit more reality has entered the AvA....

Well said Storch. If you are saying that I am nothing like you then I take it as a great compliment and I thank you. I knew you had it in you to say something nice.
As for skill, alas, you are right. I am not nearly as skillfuil as you are with a video game. Hats off to you and the many hours you spent becoming the best of the best. From a tactical standpoint, is it deemed skillful to say on an open frequency "I will meet you at the 3-4 grid?" If it is, then you are skillful at tactics as well and I applaud you for it.

I rather like the current set up in the AvA, reminds me of an ongoing scenario.
Getting in to strike a target and getting back out, trying to intercept the other side doing the same,I find immersive.
AH has no shortage of places to find furballs.

Had a good time in the new set up last night, and like it just fine. You can actually bounce someone now, and be bounced yourself. :salute
The current settings would make for a great Eastern Front scenario I think.

What you describe as a good arena, Sir, is what the DA is supposed to be.

Getting real tired of hearing how ****** we all are because we enjoy this new setup. All you have been posting has been extremely negative and wish that the mods would suspend you so we don’t have to read your ****. So far I haven’t seen you once in the arena…. Maybe that’s why we are all enjoying it.

I don't think anyone takes this thread serious enough to complain about it, different thread same blah blah.
-
Well VWE, you can always go to the Early War Arena, Mid War Arena, Late War Orange Arena, Late War Blue Arena or the Dueling Arena (5 different options in total) to find whatever it is your looking for.
As far as your comment about having 2 Training Arena's, I hardly think you can draw any comparison between the two. You are more than intelligent enough to realize this, so there must be some other reason for this thread.

Thanks storch you enlighten our path; eternal gratitude to you :aok

I'll take your word for it.
Usually, when when something has been ripened (in a cave or otherwise) that means that it has reached its prime with regard to edibility, not that is has become moldy enough to eat.
