Some minor, useful, suppose easy to implement, and IMO reasonable requests:
1 - When mapping the keyboard, add an advice when trying to assing an already assigned key or key combination.
2 - At the hangar, add three buttons. One to restore the default POVs for the selected plane. The second to retore convergence ranges to default. And the third to select a gunsight from a set of them available (dont make the players to mess with file names, etc). Once a sight is selected, show the bitmap to the player.
3 - Add three dot commands to adjust the trim sensitivity. For example (.etrimsen 1, 2 or 3, .rtrimsen 1, 2 or 3 and atrimsen 1, 2 or 3). Being 2 the actual setting.
4 - Add a key command to restore the zoom to default while inflight.
5 - At the squad adming dialog, add the option to create an "Armies", and the hability for the squads to join "armies". A radio channel for "army" members and a key to hilight the "army" members inflight (just orange, like squad members). Those armies would be agrupations of squads and individual players.
6 - Change the ".wingman name" command by ".addwingman name" and ".removewingmen". This way we'll be able to fly more effectively with more than one wingman.
7 - While typing in radio text buffer, dont dissable ESC key, let us hide or show the map while sending messages. Just keep the funcionality of any non writable keys or non writable key combinations while radio buffer is active. For example, playing with external views (F keys) while radio buffer is active).
8 - Add a dot command to set up the pan speed. Actual pan speed is good to adjust the views, but very slow for combat.

Some useful ideas there, mandoble.
Also, the attack/fighter buttons should remember their last setting. For instance, I never use the tiffie for fighter, so it would be useful 'attack' stayed selected whenever I went to the hangar.

attack/fighter buttons dont remember their last setting from sortie to sortie?? ... Oh my ...
Suppose you are refering to a "default" setting per plane, being that default the last rol selected by player for each plane.
Agree 100%.

And a bit more about the "armies" idea. Get rid of nationality markings on the planes and substitute them by the army markings, just the way actually the squad markings work but placed on the wings of the planes. If a player is not assigned to an army, use default markings for rooks, bish and knights.
Perhaps this helps those that cant fly a german plane because it has Luftwaffe markings or those that cant aproach a yak because it has soviet markings, etc. Let the players to choose their aircraft markings based on the army or the country, and, by default use markings as impersonal as our actual countries (bish, rooks and knights).
Of course, any army may decide to use a red star as its marking, or USAAF, etc, instead the default country based icons.

Mandoble, they do 'remember' their settings provided you don't enter the hangar after completing a sortie. For instance, in sortie 1, you had attack selected. You complete the sortie and exit to tower. Now if you start a new sortie using the 'Runway' selector, the role will be remembered. But, if you enter the hangar to change something, the role reverts to fighter.
Perhaps I'm just too stupid to remember to do it. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Another EASY request to add:
Remove the clipboard feature that moves it to the left side if it does not fit into the zoomed view.
I like my clipboard in the center of the screen and not too large so that I can still see somewhat around it. Occasionally I use the zoom toggle (not the clickable clipboard zoom keys) to fill my screen with the map area for just a short time.. just to check out details.
It is very annoying when the zoom is toggled on and I accidentally bring out the clipboard.... once again having to drag it to the center with the mouse. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
Why does it have to move on its own at all???

Bravo Mandoble! Good suggestions!

Another suggestion:
give us the possibility to map the elevator trim on the scroll wheel of the mouse, so that we can use it with left hand while flying.
This will be more useful when FFB will be activated (1.07).
Agree all MANDOBLE's suggestions
Ciao.
