Lancaster could carry up to 24k bombs, although researching 14k was standard. special mods were given when carrying the grand slam (22k single bomb), bomb bay doors were removed, and top turret removed.
There is NOTHING in this game besides the AR234 that I can spend my bomber perkies on. It would be really really nice if I had the option of carrying at least 20-1k bombs on the Lancs and perking the extra 6 or so bombs to have them handy. Doing so would also promote the idea of having to have more patience and coming in to bomb at higher alts (20K+) which to me is more challenging and very conducive of what they did back in the day.
I know were never getting the grand slam, but they really should add more options for bomber pilots.

:aok
Could be a good start for perked load outs.
Then we could add the F6F-5P and it's perked loadout (4 20mm hispanos)

Hmmm.
I too think that all the bombing perk points that I have could be used towards something other than just the Ar234. Sometimes... I lean towards perking the Lanc, but I know what kind of a **** storm that would follow such an idea.
Here is a suggestion: instead of wanting BIGGER bombs to do MORE damage, what about give more ENY/OBJ points for using smaller bombs to get the job done? For instance, take any of your dual 1k lb carrying fighter-bombers and they will probably have the option of taking dual 500lb or 250lb instead. Likewise, I doubt many of the bombers will take less than the biggest most baddest bombs they can carry (who takes less that the 14/1k or 6/3k-3/500lb loadout on the Lancs???). My point is that when a bomber or FB destoys something with a 100 or 250 lb bomb, shouldnt it count more than a 500 or 1k bomb? How many P47/F6F/Typhoon/Mossi/Bf110/etc pilots take the smaller loadout when attacking ground targets? In the same breath the question of "what for" will be asked since the only benefit is an ever so slight higher speed or climb rate.
I say we need not make some thing perked, but rather give more benefit for destroying something with a smaller ord.

I like that Idea loon. but please dont perk my lancs . the guns are so weak and the climb takes forever..I truely think they should be set at a higher perk than the 24..but thats my oppinion.

I fly the 234 and like it, but I too would like to see more options for our bombers perks.

Yeah i like this idea too!.....(lol)..... When are they gonna add the B29?
(GO BEN STILLER GO! MAKE ANOTHER MOVIE BWAH HA HA HA!) :devil

Only bombs I want to see perked are the 1000lb and larger bombs on fighters. Bombers are fine as is. We don't need bigger bombs.

Would more rugged hangars achieve the same end you are desirous of, without perking anything? Or am I guess wrong here?

nope..not asking for bigger bombs..just the option carrying more while still being "historically" correct. Keep the hangars as they are, even a mediocre bomber like me still finds it challenging to level a Field.

The Lancaster B.Mk I 'Special' could carry a single 22,000lb bomb, barely. We don't have a B.Mk I 'Special', we have a B.Mk III which had a maximum load of 14,000lbs.
The 'Specials' had the nose turret removed (maybe the top turret too), bomb bay doors removed and a rear turret with four .303s.
Therefore you are asking for a non-historical loadout for the Lancaster.

HTC has already said they will be implementing perked ord.
It just means that in addition to charging perk points for perk planes, we can also charge perk points for ordnance. How it will work is you will have to use your perk points to equip your plane. Every rocket, bomb, and round of ammunition will cost perk points. The more powerful something is, the more it will cost. .50 caliber rounds will be a lot cheaper than 20mm rounds, but you do carry a lot more of them. The cool thing is that if you score a hit with a round, you will not be charged for that round. So if you get really close and hit with all of your rounds, it won't cost you any extra perk points. .30 caliber rounds will always be free so even if you run out of perk points, you can still fly a Spit I or Hurricane I. Note that if you get shot down you will be charged for all the ordnance that was on the plane. Another cool thing about this is that if you like the heavy weaponry but aren't such a good shot, you will now be able to buy additional perk points with your credit card so you can always get that extra boost if you really want it.
