<S!> guys... we've got a couple of North African terrains coming soon to the SEA very soon; we sure could use some skins to use them on. There's a lot of good info out there, info on B-25s, B-24s, Spits, Hurris, 109s, 110s, etc, etc... I'd do some myself, but my plate is already full. :)
Btw, I'm looking for official server skins, not built-into-terrain skins.
Thanks, all!
Here's some previews...

Oh yeah... Tanks! we need lots of tanks!
-
Working on a Hans-Jaochim Marseille 109F skin right now. My computer's screwed up though.
I'll see if I can start on a 110 as well.... once I get everything working.

Well the Allied Sherman Firely was never deployed in Africa. The M8 was, although I have never seen any Desert schemes for it. The Tiger I (early version) was there, but I am not sure our version of the Panzer Mk IV was ever deployed in Africa.
Unless you want terrain specific skins you are not going to get historical skins for the MA for most of the armor.
I can do a P-39D for ya, and a B-25C as well.
-
Thanks, Fencer and ML. We can add skins as terrain-specific if they get rejected as non-historic. Just having them the right color would be enough. :)
-
Beautiful terrain BTW.
-
Ok I found some British Sherman Desert schemes that I can make work on my Firefly Template. If I do it, show you the reference material will it be used? Don't want to waste my time.. :)
[edit] If someone else wants to do a desert 'firefly' please feel free, it will be some time before I get to it.
-
If HTC doesn't accept it for online, I'll certainly build it into the terrain. So, "yes"... it will be used. :)

Nice looking terrains Dux. Most of the relevent templates I have done (Spits, Boston, Ju 88, F4F) already have desert skins available in the game.
I can do an Afrika Korps 251 as a server skin and maybe a C-47 if I can find info. The B-24 is another one, but I don't think there were any desert-schemed front-turreted B-24s. A B-24D desert skin wouldn't get accepted for the MA on the J template, but I can skin one to be built into the terrain.

Nice work Dux!

I wish we had some of those maps in the MA! I know that some of the skins you are looking for are already done. I checked the netaces page and saw a P-40, Spit 5 and 9, a 109E and F, a ME 110, a Boston III, and many others that flew in the African campaign.
Great work again Dux!

North Africa terrains :aok
-
Thanks, Greebo... figured you guys would know more valid variant than I.
I do know that there is a common US/British desert scheme for the B-25C... I'd love to see that one.

did you guys make the straight of gibraltar wide enough for task groups if the need be?

Look at the map... it's at least 2 miles wide.
-
It's roughly to scale... it's about 6 miles.
-
:O Wow! I've got to congratulate easy and falcon next time I talk to them.
-
Great work on the maps! Wow!
-
It seems that the Sahara has expanded somewhat :lol
being restricted to one texture for the ground sorta sucks.
Edit: forgot to say, Great work guys.

There are a couple of P-38Gs from the 14th FG in game, and my 14thFG 38G has an updated skin waiting in HTC's queue but hasn't received approval yet.
I also had started a famous P-38G called "Sad Sack" which served in North Africa with the 82nd FG IIRC, I can try to finish that one up and submit it.
-
Ive got a 109E4 skin already in game, desert camoflauge. If you want it, just let me know, I'll send the files to you. As I said, its already in game.
-
Forgot to say this too - great work on the terrain. Much appreciated!
-
Here's "Sad Sack", a P-38F from the 95th FS/82nd FG flown by CO Ernie Osher, Algeria 1943. Should be right at home in this terrain. Almost done with her, unless you guys spot anything wrong. I'd like to finish and submit this weekend, if possible.
I think it was Shuffler who posted a link to this pilot's bio a long while ago, and it turns out I was attending the same small college in Iowa that he attended before he joined the AAC -- I was sitting in the same library he probably studied in when I was reading his info.
