What an idiot, should have his licence revoked immediately. All those people are very lucky and those on the ground not to be killed by flying parts. Saw the remains of a H500 crash near a hanger once. One rotor blade travelled entire distance of apron and through a hanger, destroyed a couple other aircraft and cut the tail boom of a A350 clean off.
Again lucky no one was killed.

Had it been wheeled out the hangar to that position on some sort of trolley?

Person in the left seat looked all of 14 years old.

Did the blades hit the hanger when he took off or did it break? Regardless that's one reason I'd never stand that close to a helicopter taking off..

In helos it's the person in the right seat that is PIC

Well, damned if you don't learn something new everyday!
This day's done, back to bed!

What did he hit? I didn't see it, but it certainly surprised me.
-
He took off undernieth a hanger door and hit his main rotor blades on it... THe camerman pans up to where he hit it towards the end of the film.

that WAS your entire post.
if you were refering to the age of the student, 14 is old enough to be learnign to fly. he just can't earn his cert till he's 18 or solo before he's 16.

No, I was refering to the person in the left seat looking very young and had assumed that person was flying the helo. I had no idea that the PIC was right-seat in a helo which SD67 responded with after my post...IF you had read the entire thread.

Flew helicopters for about 20 years, not as a pilot, as an aircrewman. Watching this video reminded me of one incident we had.
One dark and stormy night(sounds like an opening for a Snoopy novel!) we made a emergency landing at a sports field. No problems just a quick landing. So the next morning we laughing and joking around as we headed out to our aircraft, that is until we saw the aircraft... and the telephone poles 3 to 5 feet from our rotor blades!
Obviously the pilot in the video got complacent. Just another takeoff.

He hit the building. The camera guy zoomed in where the rotors made contact on the edge of the roof.
