Title: Zero fuel burn order.
Post by: AirFlyer on July 02, 2008, 02:03:06 PM
I've recently been playing around with the order I burn fuel tanks instead of letting the computer do it. It actually started because I've been flying the F4U-1 some and I read it's best to burn the left tank first. Anyways... I was curious if anyone knew the best order to burn the fuel tanks in the A6M5b.

What an ambiguous thread title. At first I thought you were demanding that fuel burn be set to zero.

Heh, I couldn't really think of what to name the thread so I went with that. Although, zero fuel burn rate...  :devil

Yeah, not having all that fuel sloshing around would be great. Once that happens, we can work on the whole problem of running out of ammo

i don't think it matters, THe auto burn will burn off the auxillary tank first then alternate between wing tanks. The amount of fuel your carrying matters far more than how it's dispersed.

Ah alright, I usually take 100% since full tanks break almost every sortie I take, so the extra fuel is nice to get home.

A lot of fuel really effects the way it handles. Take a half tank at most with drop tanks. You have a  limited ammo load anyway so your usually done shooting way before your out of gas. Zekes are really fuel efficient so you dont need to carry that much. The trick to not having your tanks ventilated is not to get shot. The extra maneuverability of having less fuel makes this more do-able.

the zeke seems to fly/turn great with the wing tanks so I up with them and 25/50%
