There should be an option to play music from a pre-selected collection that should be stored within each user's account.
That way, you can pretend that you're Doug from Iron Eagle, albeit in an older airplane, and kill bastards to the sounds of Queen and Twisted Sister... Of course, if you want to stay committed to the time period, I'm sure that some Glenn Miller will suffice.
You should be able to switch it on, and have it partially but not completely drown out the sounds of the flight--and yes, it should be partially evident through the com channel--just so that fellow pilots can make snide remarks about having accidentally tuned into a local radio station.
See?

But if nobody else hears it, how will I be indirectly accused of having a soundtrack after the mission is over? Or are you suggesting that I let the headset leak sound into the mic?

didn't they used to have something like this in AW?
(AW= Air Warrior, for the squeakers)

What it sounds like is you're looking for a mic mixer where you can blend in your background music with your voice. $10 - $$$$$, depending on what you want to spend.

Slipknot, to hear different sounds Press alt f4 then turn off your comp, and burn it, this way you here the sound of you moaning in sadness. That works for you doesn't it?? :lol

www.winamp.com is all you need.

Please stop coming up with new ideas.

Agreed... :noid

Why dont you just get something like iTunes?
But really, I think this is just pointless.

I've found a simple solution to this problem. I have 2 towers, one I use to play AH2 and the other I use for web surfing and music downloading.I got them both hooked to 1 moniter with a KVM cable. Surround sound on the media computer, and headset on the gaming computer. :salute

Our squad uses Ventrillo, which is liek team speak, we use it to talk instead of the ingame VOX. With vent you can use itunes, winamp, windowsmedia or almost anyother media player to jam wile in AH.
....it does distract me alot and does effect SA. There is nothing worse than getting blown out of the sky while jammin some Petty in autoclimb. Talk about free fallin!

Plug any music playing device into the "line in" port on the back of your sound card, and adjust the volume accordingly.
Plug your microphone into the mic port on the back of your sound card and under play control mute it. -By muting, you wont here yourself through your speakers, but everyone will here you fine.
Now you've got whatever music you want to listen to, and all your game sounds coming through one set of speakers, or headphones.

Once again though... there's ONE problem with this...
We can't have some squeaker going down missing his left wing on fire, without any elevators, and a PW, blasting "We are the Champions" now can we???
-
again pure genius!
I was only saying on vox the other day wouldn't it be cool to have an unreal tournament style "headshot" after a pilot kill.
My personal preference would be "can't touch this" after owning some one.
