Title: Cant Open AH! HELP!

I cant open AH for a unknown reason. when i open it, it goes to the black screen then it goes back to my desktop (kinda like a half screen....half AH Blackscreen and other half desktop). it says "blah blah blah we've ran into a problem and have to shut down. do you want to report this problem?" and i cant get in wahhh! help me plaz

Sounds like you might have a corrupt file. Have you recently rolled back to a "restore point" in XP? This more often than not will mess up the game. Re-installing the game could help.

I had the same problem when I installed AH on my brothers laptop.  He had the internal speakers disabled and no externals plugged in.  It wouldn't launch without speakers.  Run Dxdiag and look it over for possible problems.  That's how I found it.  It said no sound card detected.
