Anyone esle sick of that map, seems like it`s been in there for months. When will they make some new
maps? (yes i know players do it for them) I`d pay another 5 bucks a month for them to hire somebody to do it,or give a guy they already have some over time. Maybe give a player 6 months of free play for a new map or something. Why can`t they use some of the maps from FSO`S? Yes i know they r made 2 sided and not 3 but can`t that be redone easier then making a whole new map. Why can`t old maps be redone to work in new ah2. Can old maps be added to or expanded? Don`t say go build 1 either,I don`t know how and would rather pay others to do it for me.

i wish they would put the donut map back in rotation....FT wooooooot! i miss that map.

Flayed1 has a map in the works, but since HiTech decided to change his arena setup, Flayd hasn't worked on it. I'll have to ask him about it.
From an old thread: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,186705.0.html

It seems like every week we have a thread on maps and we never hear anything from HTC. Why not? I too would like to know they can't use old maps from the past. They worked once, why not now? :salute

It's not the lack of maps. There is just no rotation in LWO because no side is able to reset that map. You could have a hundred additional maps and there still would be Ozkansas up.
That's why this humble snail is wishing for the reintroduction of the weekly reset.

Mindanao!!!!!!!!!!!!

Infinity and beyond....err I mean Trinity and more :D

Pizza
Brilliant map

Why they stop weekly rotation anyways???

Perhaps this idea's been pitched before...
Leave LWO as it is.
Limit LWB to the small & mid-sized maps and cap the arena at 240....24/7 No need for a reset in LWB as the smaller maps would be easily won.
btw...couple of years ago when the rotation/weekly reset was in play, I recall a deafening roar for large maps. Maybe we got what was wished for :aok

Agreed Uptown... It seems like there are weekly map rants (I know I've posted a few :lol).
The solution seems simple enough...
1. Loosen up the rotation... add a few "wild cards" in every now and then.
2. Keep the 1 big/1 small concept going... THAT seems to work well.
3. NEVER repeat the same map in succession and NEVER have the same map in any two arenas... (see point 1).
4. Always have a fresh map for Titanic Tuesday (don't just rename the Arena) and have a fresh map AFTER Titanic Tuesday... NOT just a rename. This will further make Titanic Tuesday more of an "Event". Maybe restore the Monday arena back on Wednesday morning if possible.
5. Limit some of the tired old maps (err... Baltic, NDIsles and Uterus) to "wildcard" status.
6. Use the Players as a resource to make NEW maps... maybe offer an incentive for those who submit maps that are adopted for MA Use. There are allot of very smart and very willing players in this game... unleash them on us, the unsuspecting community! :aok

We have had the same map in oranage for ecleast 4 weeks now. I think most people have given up trying to win it, I know I have. Seems everyday your fighting at the same bases and no one has taken any new ground.

Mindanao!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOO!!! DONUT!!!!!! DONUT DONUT DONUT!!!!
If we dont get donut map, I will squeak! dont make me!!!
Prepare for your ears to bleed... :noid :noid :noid

It's gotten to the point where I only fly TT now, all the other fights are so old. And yes, even if I do get ganged by the rook horde ( :D) I still go back because there are good dogfights to be had.
-
I'm right there with Davey, LWO map has become rather tiresome. Same battle same land, just stick to TT, had some great fights with Bubi and Kostic over the weekend.

HTC treats player made maps with pure disregard. Who knows why, it is absolutely ridiculous. I know many people have submitted maps, only to be told they needed "tweaking" for the MA, or that they were under review, never to be heard from again. The last time I saw a truly new map make it to the MA's was almost a year ago.
Also, every time someone posts some images of a map they're working on the forums, the same hackneyed bunch here comes and says "its good, but not for the MA yet!" or "the MA is a completely differently ballgame, son" as if every map needed to have some hithertofore undiscovered atomic level of precision and equality, lest gameplay be slightly thrown off. You know what, I personally wouldnt mind if we could get to test out a few of these such maps once a week. If it really is unbalanced, then oh well, one side will win and feedback can be given on the forums and the map tweaked or taken out of the rotation.
It just doesn't make sense that HTC has this great player community here and, for the most part, largely ignores its efforts.

I think that says it all

Trotter pretty much said what alot of others think.

Awhile back I posted that I think when Titanic Tuesday comes around every week, that the map should be rotated..So tommorrow,it should be a different map,let it play out during the week, then next Tuesday change it again..etc..etc...This will also reset blue as it comes back online,"I think",and that one can remain the same, unless of course it is the same map as is in the Titanic Tuesday arena.
Although I dont think it would be too much of an issue if it were the same,as we would know that in a week,Orange/TT would be a different map anyway...
I dont know, but I really dont think it would be that hard, would it Skuzzy???

Change is the only thing that will keep us "Electronic Crack" addicts addicted. New maps keeps us HIGH and when it becomes boring people will move on. :noid

4. Always have a fresh map for Titanic Tuesday
Agreed, although I'll admit I just hate the big maps. Too hard on the eyes.
-
Complete stalemate map. Towns so close to field that the ACK has to be taken down for capture as well. Personally sick of that map, wish someone would win, don't care who.
-
Infinity and beyond....err I mean Trinity and more :D
:aok
-
Well, bish were close to resetting it last night... but the nits had to take back all of it and make a run at our HQ today. :furious

Completely out of touch with reality.
There are certain things that make maps work in the main arena. Most anyone can make a map work in the H2H environment that do not, in any way, shape, or form function correctly in the "Real" arenas.
Working with terrains for scenarios, I have some idea as to what I am speaking of, as small minor issues that are overlooked in the player made maps can wreak havoc on the main arenas and events.
Comments like this are totally out of line and based on nothing but speculation. I urge you to submit a map, Correctly, so that HTC doesn't have to build and rebuild more times than it's worth, Then suggest you might know what you are talking about.
Just because you think you know something does not make it a fact.

Well Said ROC.
I've been toying with making a map. There is much more to it than meets the eye.
I can see already that making a usable MA map is going to take many many months of work.

AHHH, a Company man eh?
You completely miss the point sir.
We the paying subscribers have identified a problem that has become increasingly annoying. The stale map problem has been whined about, discussed, argued, and debated, by us the subscribers that pay the freight... The responses we get are... <crickets chirping> . There have been several interesting proposals/suggestions as to a solution to the problem that have been... ignored, dismissed, and rejected without so much as a peep out of those who can effect a favorable outcome to this everlasting problem. Meanwhile YOU chime in with the Nuremberg Defense... and I liberally paraphrase, "I am only following orders". Please spare me the fingerpointing...

As others have stated... Submitting a map is like throwing matter into a black hole. Nothing is ever heard about the submitted map (that took serious time and effort to make) again.
It would be nice to at least have a little dialog with those at HTC that can impact this issue, and a little serious discussion about what can be done and how we (the subscriber base) can help.
The FIRST step in the problem solving process is to identify the problem... We are there. Let's FIX this mess of a map problem once and for all!

When was the last time "the war" was won, does anyone know ?
I think the problem is getting a good sized map so players can fight over it without having the "HORDE" effect take over. New maps maybe ?
-
i make the best of every map no matter how long it stays up. there is always some fun to be found. reguardless how many times i have to die to find it

I just love the way you guys come on these boards, kick HTC and company in the nut sack, and THEN ask them to fix something YOU think is a problem! Your all a bunch of pathetic 12 year olds ! (my apologies to the real 12 year olds).
Just because YOU havn't heard what happened to a map that was submitted doesn't mean it wasn't checked and commented by HTC and co. Maybe what needed to be fixed was just a small thing, but to do so ment rebuilding most of the map. Now a project that is already large and time consuming has to be reworked from point "A" agaiin. Maybe that person just gave up !
How many maps have you built and submitted? I've started 3 and have given up on all three, I just don't have the time. Spend a couple of 40 hour weeks working on a map and then we'll talk.
HAving the same map in LW is a bit of a pain, but I can still find a fight when I get to log on. If your so bored with the map, instead of flying on a boring map, or spending your time here demanding HTC fix it, spend your time helping with the problem.........
Make a MAP !
