Title: The perkie bank
Post by: dirtdart on July 08, 2008, 05:49:15 PM
Has there ever been an attempt to approach HTC about awarding the perk points of the gv/plane to the person who shot it down?  Example  I shoot a Tiger and if I land successfully I get the perkies the other guy paid for it.  If this is an old topic, spare the rod.  I have only six months at this game.

It's been mentioned in the past.  But I don't think it's a good idea - you already get more perks for killing a better aircraft/vehicle, and when you consider the feeding frenzy that would result when a perked aircraft shows up...

i belive if u get an assist u should get atleast 1/4 of the points for the kill, cause half the time.. im the 1 that kills em.. only get an assist.. and no points

I too believe that when I shoot someone down and only get an assist Ii should be paid for it.
IRL the kill is shared amongst those who killed it, why not here?
By all means pay the regular perk bonus to the player who got the kill, but maybe 20% of the perk value to each assist? Some sorties I land way more assists than kills, but flying a Yak amongst the Hizooka crowd you get used to it.

Wouldn't making assists worth something just make you get more assists? (Someone steals your kill for the "assist")

At the moment it's really not that hard for ppl too steal my kill for the kill, so really it makes little difference :lol

To touch on the assist topic... nothing is more annoying than shooting the wing off a plane and then seeing some guy hit him on the way down for the asist or kill.  I have often wondered if there was a way to stop that.  Anyway, maybe the award of perkie cost to the guy who shot them down would make the guys fly those planes less.  As a Bish, ENY seems to be an issue, some times, and it sure would be cool when you blast a Tempest with a spit V to sweeten the pot with some way high perk award.  I have to admit the above post is spot on, all someone would have to do is fly by a furball in a 262 and they would pull lots of guys who are more interested in the perk award than attacking or defending.  Hooah.

It's already like that now, I'll fly a 262 to the field where the reds are a flowing out of and the idea of shooting down a 262 will divert some of those guys. couple weeks ago had a typhoon and 190 chase me till they ran out of gas. They were never a real threat and still managed to kill some buffs.
