Title: Define your idea of fun within the bounds of AHII
Post by: captain1ma on July 11, 2008, 11:50:53 AM
this will be a fun question. whats your idea of fun with the bounds of Aces High 2. I like Base taking, battling my way to get there and capture or be punished by the other side for trying. i like the goal oriented thing. i like furballing when one pops up but dont like it on a regular basis. i like bombing at low altitude because it takes too long to get to 30k. i dont like resupplying bases but will do it if i have to. I love fighting in GV's but not on a regular basis.

i really used to like the AVA, it would cover all of this and had a rolling planeset to boot. its a great place to learn and get some decent fights

your turn!

saddling up with squadies, taking real estate - defended or not, fighter sweeps, and getting my tail shot off in Gv's, mid alt bombing. the hq runs from  :devil ... dont really care to furball or pork to boring and ohhh the frustration of working on my acm :salute

Any kind of close proximity fighting ... preferably defending a base as opposed to taking one....involving at least 20 planes on each side.....

I'm also digging naval battles lately... cv to cv....but I've only been in three of them so far.

Also love being alone on a base....sitting in a shore batt.........and having an unsuspecting cv float by......and taking down the carrier.

If you have never flown scenarios before, your biggest problem will be controlling your excitement and remembering what you learn from practice when the moment of truth arrives.  The same is true for the guys on the other side.  You'll fly probably for hours and never see a thing.  You'll be bored senseless.  Lots of time to think about RPMs and speed and fuel conservation and blah blah blah blah blah <snore> .........  But the second someone yells out they have contact, your heart will start to race, your adrenaline will start flowing, and you'll have all the symptoms of "Buck Fever".  Its a huge rush.  And it will hook you on scenarios forever.  Give it a chance.
^That.

Meeting new and interesting people and shooting them.  Or, more appropriately, firing in their general direction and hoping to get lucky.

CV action, problem is most the twits that control CV's run them right in front of the SB or to bases with ord up also.

1. In the MA, fun is "ka-boom" followed by "You shot down XXX". Everything else is work.

2. The other fun part, probably the most fun part, is DAing with your buddies at ridiculously late hours, weaving through the shrubberies with your flaps and gear out and otherwise flying ridiculously, while simultaneosly carrying on ridiculous discussions on vox about which Classic rock band is best or the wierder implications of the theory of general relativity.

Don't forget the ones that park them in the middle of PT spawns.

I like when two bases are in close proximity to each other so the flight isn't too long to get into a good fur ball...
