I like it too, the nighttime is great for low alt raids deep into enemy territory. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

It comes down to this:
If you are a fighter when night arrives, it sucks.
If you are a fighter/bomber and are hitting antoher field, its great.
If you are a bomber its great.
If you are a tanker, its great. (lack of landscaped objects, night makes up for them)
-
I like the concept, but the way nightime and "cloud layers" are currently implemented, its impossible to play then for me.
Its like playing in a mine shaft, with black icons.

night is good, breaks the monotony of dying in the daylight (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Nighttime's ok, although it is a bit of a chore to alt-tab out and punch the gamma way up so I can see.
-
I have had 1 really intense dogfights during nightime and another 2 good sorties during nightime. Its OK for me, admittidly its hard! once you get within icon range it heats up, very hard to tell palne orientation though.

Night is fine, aside from the fact that it makes the game totally unplayable.
Wait a minute, it's a GAME and meant to be PLAYED. This means night sucks.
That is, of course, if you like fighting. If you like milkrunning undefended bases then night is a dream come true.
No night in MA please. For historic scenarios it has plenty of use.

For me it gives nice "kicks" to hunt bombers/Fighters in the middle of the night (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
In nights you can't see the black dot in air, only dot in dar if you're lucky. Then just lucky guess if the enemy is over you or below (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Stars look cool, but after the novelty wears off it sucks same as i thought it did before.

I do like it, but I don't particularly look forward to flying a traditional fighter mission in the night time environment. The fact that dogfights and furballs occur at night is almost non-sensical mostly due to the current icon visibility. We can perceive bearing, range and closure in a way not even available to modern fighters with night vision, radar and AWACS support.
(OTH, this type of a system would give huge advantage in nightime capability for modern
fighter forces. Hitech, ever think of marketing this kind of graphical presentation of information to the military? Adding lit up airplane outlines to detect aspect
would be the icing on the cake - would remind me of the Dallas skyline, but I digress...)
Night time flying (or vehicle driving) in AH has potential for being something great and
a lot of fun. Maybe not for diehard furballers, but for those who want to experience everything this sim has to offer. I'd rather see a seperate small furball/fighter town type of arena to accomodate these customers during periods of darkness in the MA than to take night time away from the entire AH community again. Was this part of the intent of the new Duel arena?

Don't take this as a "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN LEAVE!" suggestion...
If you don't like the night, log off as soon as it arrives. HTC initially removed night-time because they found that a large percentage would log off rather than fly in the dark. I'm sure they are still correlating these numbers and I'm sure it still matters.

I like night time. In game and in real life.

While night time does make dogfights more dificult personally I enjoy the challenge.
I know HTC is trying to walk a knife edge with this issue. It seems to be an issue where there is very little middle ground. Your either for it or against it.

carefull dejavu!
next we'll be getting those that dont want night logging out relogging in then reloggin out over and over whilst night time is on to make it look like people dont like the night (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
(http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) hehe now ive torn it!

Night time A2A is very hard, really increases the need to concentrate and strain your Mark 1 eyeballs. For whatever reason, my hit percentage and kill/death go up at night, probably because I suffer too much from target fixation. This helps at night plus much less likely to get jumped by another con so fights are a little more like one on one duels. 90% of my deaths come from the guy I didn't see killing me while I was trying hard to kill the guy I was "locked on". Panzer to Panzer battles at night are positively wicked.

I just had a horrid vision:
<Scene: Funked in John Travolta dance pants, big collared silk shirt shuffling to the tune "I like the nitelife, I like to boogie...">
-
I don't like Mondays.
-
LOL Snort I was singing that tune to myself as I waited for screen to come up!
-
Our whole squadron LOVES nighttime.
Keep it.
Our fighter guys love it, too.
-
I like what night looks like, but prefer to log when it arrives in the MA. I have 2 kills i think in the dark.. 1 in a pz, and 1 in a fighter..

If you dont like night-time just log off and thats it.
Couple days ago I was bombing Bish HQ with Lanc. On my way back to home (75-100 miles) I saw some dots around me when night was already coming.
I dived from 22k to under 500ft and headed home avoiding enemy bases and collecting some grass examples with the bottom of the Lanc (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).

I think it would help folks understand each others point of view if folks who cannot see anything at night would take a screen shot to share and those that can do likewise. This may be more than a monitor 'gamma' issue and it may be that some video card users are handicapped during the online night. Like some were from the cloud layers HiTech had to pull til fixed.

This is just for testing: Lanc in night (http://www.kolumbus.fi/staga/night.jpg).
My own harware-set (old Phillips monitor/GF2MX 1024*768 32bit) shows it just fine but in work there's nothing but stars...
Guess Intel815 is not made for playing..
Edit:
Added little more brightness etc and there it was. After I shut down lights from my office Lanc shows itself just fine...

Same here Staga. Granted it is a screen shot and not as good as the real thing but it is close enough. I know that picture will look good on my PC at home which has the TNT2 Ultra. But at work here that screen shot is extremely dark. All night screen shots posted on HTC's bbs have been very, very drak when viewd with this PC. With the the gamma turned up high enough to see that as I would at home my desktop and other apps are too bright.
So posting screen shots may not prove much after all (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

They have doctors that can 'fix' that for you today.

LOL rip!
i think night was ok but ugly on my old16bit voodoo3 but looks a lot better in 32bit.
I think the night adds a little change which i think is good but doesnt go on so long as to annoy me any.
What im not sure of is how many 'nights' we have on any given RL day?
