Hi Wurzel,
thanks for sharing :aok
No problem with the weather - warbirds looks great on a dark threatening sky, don't need a teletubby blue one everytime.
-
Nice one wurz :)

Nope, thats a restored combat vet P39 not a 63.
Nice Spits. 2 Spit Vs, 2 IXs and an XVI. I was lucky enough to get to Duxford for Legends in 2005 with a bunch of old Airwarrior friends. It's a great show.

Perk the F8F!!!! :D :lol
Tremendous day out. Sitting at airport for the flight home now. Will find a few shots to post when I get there.
The Bearcat's performance was astounding and it was in pretty lofty company remember.
Anybody like to hazard a guess as to which aircraft demonstrated next best performance (after daylight which was in second place to the F8F)?

No Bf-109's at the airshow?

Great pics . Thanks for posting them . :aok

No Bf-109's at the airshow?
They would not be so popular in British air space, would they? ;)
I saw the flying 109G in Berlin in ILA-06 and later that year in Duxford a Bouchon "109" -version. You can guess which one was more impressive
If you want to see a 109, you are more likely see it in Germany or in France. However, the overall WW2 show in Duxford is simply something unbelievable :O :aok

They would be very popular - well, at least until they started to vulch all the lined-up spits...

2 Hours in my car to the German border, and less than that in a plane to Heathrow - maybe I should keep an eye on upcoming events.

Well, given enough time to work it all out, wing loadings, Size of engine etc, plus factoring in the sheer joy of flying, the Yak 3 would eat every other plane there. Now a P61 may give a Yak3 a run for its money but...after all is said a done, Yak 3's are the shiznit.
-
I voted for it! ;)
didnt want anymore american muscle planes. what did they say 5000 built trikky???
loved the mass fly past towards the end.
-
I somehow managed to get sunburn on my face despite the clouds  It was a good day, got a few good snaps myself.

me too johnny its all that looking up that does it.
I'll post some more when I get back home from work. I've got a great one for the wishlist :lol

OH okay, I know they just finished restoring a P-63, just didn't know what it looked like. IIRC, it looked kinda like that. Or atleast very dark coloured.
