A couple days back I posted some screen shots of a free Add on Aircraft (A-7C/E) for Wings Over Vietnam. Like I mentioned, they have some real high quality stuff out there. There is also a team that creates stuff for MSFS and the Strike Fighters Series. They have some Payware stuff, and I heard it was getting good reviews.
But I was kind of leery of purchasing a payware model for Wings over Vietnam. I have never bought any third party payware add-on aircraft. I thought to myself, I know people are paying for payware aircraft for MSFS, but the SF series too?
So I went and checked out Razbam's website and was checking out the A-6 Intruder model he has. For 16 Dollars you can own three different variants of the A-6, the A, B and E-Tram model. I was skeptical, because the game contains an A-6A already that is nicely modeled, And there are freeware models of every A-6 variant made for the SF series. But the screen shots, reviews and some of the known issues with the game and freeware models had me interested. So on a whim, I purchased it.
When I first took it for a spin I nearly went deaf when the P&W J52s spooled up. It kind of gave me a headache at first but It has since grown on me. I was so psyched to see one of the many skins was an A-6E Tram of VA-85 Black Falcons. My dad served aboard the USS America with VA-85 during GW1. I have personally touched the real aircraft the skin portrays when I was child visiting the Ship and NAS Oceana with my father.

Other than a few minor issues (One that can be fixed by one's self) the model is superb. A great model, I'm glad I purchased.

Good choice Nef. Can't tell you how many times I've been on Whidbey near Oak Harbor watching them take off and land. I was really sad when the F-18 replaced the fleet.

I grew up about 10km away from an air base during the time that we were still using phantoms heavily as well as older f16 and the new(back then) f15c, you could hear them on there tak off rolls from miles away and when they would fly over my house at about 1k i would jst get such a rush the huge engines would shake the street and buildings, you could see them at night when they lit there afterburners even at 10,000 ft+ , I loved visiting my uncle who armed f4s and getting to sit in the hot seat while the plane was bieng fuled. Strong memories.
I think nothing can top this bird.

I lived in VA Beach Twice, Pensacola FL, and San Diego as a child. Every where I went Navy Planes watched over me :) My first word was Jet.
It was a sad day when they F-18 replaced the A-6.

I was making a joke Evenhaim. I'm only 7 years old older than you, I was raised on Atari & Apple II. :)
When the internet started to becoming a regular thing in every household my dad still wouldn't get the Dialup. Thankfully I had a stockpile of plastic models and Flight Sims like Flight of the Intruder and Jetfighter II & III, and even later Janes USNF and Fighters Anthology.
I actually never played an online flight sim until 1999 (Fighters Anthology). :O
A year later I was here :)

T-34 is a great plane. WOnt get me in one unless the AD had been taken care of on it though. Lost an instructor to an accident where the spar failed. One heck of a great stick was lost.

To run at good detail you need at least:
3.0 GHhz Dual or Quad core CPU
2Gb Ram
And a 8 series graphics card or above with min 512mb ram. FSX currently does not take advantage of dual GPU or SLI
Key components are CPU and RAM. 4.0 Ghz and 4Gb Ram you'll have it maxed out except for aircraft AI 100% at major airports and FPS will be locked at 30.
FSX had a nice performance jump with the last SP, taking advantage of multi core CPUs.

it's Looks like a Grumman Goose--- had Pratt & Whitney R985's on it..(450 HP)
The early Grumman Widgeon had Twin Ranger's (six cylinder,200 HP driving twin bladed props)
The "Super Widgeon" had Lycoming G0-480 (270 HP, driving 3 bladed props) For engines-
I'm not entirely sure why some Goose's had Sponsons & some didn't.
Both are classics in my book !
