Title: Arena caps (not meant as a cry)
Post by: stodd on July 17, 2008, 12:14:34 PM
An arena cap of 250 is one thing, but why should there be an arena cap of 100 in an arena with a LARGE map? That just doesnt make any sense. I think arena caps should be set to a minimum of 200 or eckleast take into account the size of the map in the arena. thoughts?

I agree, the arena with the most number of people, should not have the least amount of cap. I.E where the Blue has 250/200 and the Orange has 200/300, that just dosen't seem right.

Yes I agree

Last night I suffered another disco and tried to get back in. Arena was capped at 200 with 265 people in the arena, this is the large map orange. The blue small map had 165 / 200. I waited over 35 min to get back in until the arena can back to under 200, at no time did blue ever go above 170 people. In doing so HT has forced 60 + people to not come back to the fight if discoed. Doesn't seem like a good business decision :uhoh not having an imbalance of players with a large and small map in different arenas. :D

Pretty rare that I have to wait more than 5-10 minutes to get into any arena.

If I DO have to wait much longer than that, I'll find something else to do.

I should probably start hangin in the Training arena while I'm waiting.

I just might actually learn something.

Patiently yours,

Boner :salute

So instead of jumping in blue and having some fun PLAYING, you sat around whining about how you couldn't get into orange to PLAY.

Come on, be real! There are fights going in ALL of the arenas (happened into MW last night had a great time defending a base from a CV attack). Even in EW you can bust up a milk running squad !! By sitting in the "ready room" clicking in and out waiting for the numbers to switch in your favor so you can get into orange your only wasting your time. HTC still got his $15 from ya.

Actually, As long as those players don't quit sending in their $15/mo. the best business decision is to keep as many players out of the arenas as possible, thereby reducing the server loads and the need for the equipment to handle them.

Only point I have with arena caps is that it hurts squads. Squads don't seem as intergrated as they once were due to the caps. Would be annoying trying to plan a weekends ops only to have half your squad unable to get into the same arena due to caps.

Plus off peek the 2nd arena should be closed. You can see 70 players in one and 20 in the other. If you take away those sitting in the tower or playing with GVs you might be lucky to see more then a half dozen cons all night.
