With the addition of player controlled field ack in ver.1.07, the disabling of buf guns on the ground (a holdover from WarBirds) becomes even more anachronistic.

If you've ever watched you hard working troops running hard toward the bunker get cut down in the prime of their life by some bozo 'driving' a b26 around with guns blazing, you would support even tighter "guns on safe on the ground" legislation. I think we're locked into concessions for the time being; AH is still growing and I think HTC are going to be reluctant to make too many sweeping, drastic changes to the status quo at any given time.
Personally I think the 1-gunner limit is the next barrier that needs to be addressed; either allowing a pilot and gunner man various guns or allowing 2 or more gunners on board an aircraft.
Or perhaps allowing auto-gunners to fire from one gun, with all guns tracking?

If you base capture types would DO YOUR JOB PROPERLY and kill ammo/BH etc then this wouldn't be an option.
I find it hilarious to be told "don't hit field X, we're gonna take it!!, "please don't strafe the field!" etc, and half an hour later you see goon #498 get wasted .....

Sure.
If the crew has to ride out 2k in a jeep to man the bomber after it spawns.

Yep, and ya know what? I love it when an M3 tries to sneak into my base and all I have is a Lancaster and no guns. I taxi over, open doors and send us all to smithereeens! Muhahaha
