Title: WWII and WWI Airfields Now
Post by: avionix on July 18, 2008, 03:24:37 PM
Found this website today at work and thought that it was very interesting.  Shows many airfields in use during WWII and their condition today.  Would be pretty cool to go see some of them.  <S>

If you like the old fields , you would love the movie 12'O'clock High , with Gregory Peck and Hugh Marlow.

Lots old airfield flashbacks etc.

When I was stationed in Schweinfurt, there was an old airfield on one of the Kaserns. It is used as an emergency strip now. We used to run our PT tests around the perimeter. :frown:
