Sinuses Operation ??? Did HT force you to get "Borgerised" ??? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Question is : Will the Terrain be "Compatible" with 3D editors like Vistapro, Maya, 3DSMAX or the Likes ?... I am kinda handy with some of those (Used to be in 3D before $$$ called (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ).
If they are, I promise you some goodies (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

The terrain editor will only work for AH as it is a part of the game rather than a seperate entity. If you are talking about importing your own objects, I'm really not sure about that. You will most likely have to use what we give you. However, later on down the line, things are bound to change. AH is always in a constant state of evolution.

Looking forward to those Tools (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) I don't know if there will be the ability to work with elevation other than in "Visual Mode" or if we will be able to import it by Data....(ie using real world data...). Also, are we using Splines or Nurbs here ? (Sorry, I only worked with High poly & never with Low poly so am not sure...).

We've talked about using some sort of import for elevations. You'll be working with veritces. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Maybe the possibility to use maps in jpg-gif-tiff-whatever format, with elevations in different colours? The editor would create the terrain based on them?
I'm planning to create a map for Finnish-Russian scenarios (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I think it would be great to be able to import real world elevation data.
Especially since USGS DEM files are available for just about the entire world now, and the file format is a pretty simple ascii format, so a converter hopefully wouldn't be too difficult.
Would make creating historical/scenario terrains much easier. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

that would be great. I've played with Airport and Scenery Designer for FlightSim98, and it can import the USGS DEM data (after a couple of conversions). Only problem was the files I needed to download were pretty big (memory says about 50mb, but I won't swear to it because it's been a good while since I messed with it),

Will we all get the editor, or is it just a few selected ones who get it ?
