Title: 325th mass disco in frame 02
Post by: Viper61 on July 18, 2008, 11:39:37 PM
Check this out:

325th flying Ar-234's had just bombed our target a city in 8 10 7.  Bombs out we turned south to RTB.  Approximately 25 miles south and feet wet I gave the command to ignite our RTO bottles (JATO).  (325th doesnt use the RTO's to get off of the ground, we keep them in case we get bounced by fighters, 10K of addtional thrust will get you out of most fights right quick and in a hurry).  I and 6 others all within ICON range were bounced to our desktops.  The remain 7 pilots did not disco and were further back and not within ICON range.

Have reported this to "Bugs" BBS.

A sad but funny story and had to relay this one  :huh

In the 43rd, I had a disco, and we had two others sticks go out of calibration to the point where they could control their aircraft. one guy twice. Weird night.

Had at least one squadie report that his force feedback didn't work after takeoff.

Why was A13 not flashing even when my pilots were being vulched, more specifically 613Psyco?

Also why did the field ack do so little damage? It offered no protection for my pilots on the ground when they got vulched.

field ack has always been turned down.  IF you read the write-up's you'll notice the ack is set to .3 or lower.  This is to allow low level bombing to not get ripped to pieces by auto-ack.  Players should be killed by players, not the game.  At least this has been the mentality.

As for A13, I'm not sure where that is, what you were flying, but did you whole squad go to rearm without having any cap/look-outs?  As noted last week, flying a few minutes longer generally put you to a more safe base to land and refuel at.

We did have a small cap but against the first bunch of 262s 5+ vulching 2 tempests would not do much. And for the 190's after the 262's only 1 pilot was left after the vulching.

Field ack is usually greatly reduced in FSO. Well, unless you me.

As for the mass disco: large bomber formations seem to bread weirdness in the SEA. Once at practice for a large raid we were using the "all drop on lead's mark" carpet bombing method. When the GL keyed up everyone else had a 4 second screen freeze and missed.
Another time someone found that airshow smoke was enabled. Half of us went poof.

1st suspect is a sound issue. Since it unlikely that you all use the same custom sound it may be the default and therefore a bug(HTC not responsible for custom sound issues). Or another thought. Are you all using an outside VOX server. Or were all of you filming?
If any where filming, might want to send it to HT.

At any rate AFAIK it is often difficult to reproduce such occurrences. Just watch your step the next time your in a large 234 raid in FSO(never say never) :D

About the radar at A13, our 234 group and our escorts were intentionally flashing as much radar as we could. I noticed that some of the bases and strat that should have flashed didn't until some of the others quit flashing due to us exiting there range. And 13 was in the middle of it. Overload? And was it on my end or for the whole arena?
This was from T+60 to T+85ish.

Sorry if that is what caused it. It was intended as a deffencive move for our bombers, not an offencive move to allow vulching.

Because we had the uber anti flash technology that had secrectlly been devloped by the Axis.  :t

With so many radar overlaps, it seemed that only one in a group of 4 or 5 would flash.  Was operating south of the 124 area.  city and the vbase would flash, but the airfeilds would not.  With the way it all overlapped, there would have been all lit up.  It did make it somewhat confusing as to tracking movements of cons by way of radar flash.  Don't know if having other close in bases radar not flash was programmed as intentional or not.
