They were supposed deliver a dell printer I ordered and it was supposed to come on Friday and I called they said they attempted to deliver it but I find that hard to believe since my doorbell never rang......

DHL sucks sheep privates. 99% with me they stop in front of the house with the package, but don't get out of the truck. If it looks like no one is home, they drive away. :furious Kills me every time. I always get the package, but now without a day's worth of inconvenience.

My company uses DHL. Give them paper to deliver and they do a fine job. Anything heavier than 2lbs you can forget it.
d0gma built me a gaming rig and I had it shipped using my company account. When it got here the hard drives were laying in the bottom of the case and the box looked like it has been used for a rugby ball. The comp never worked right from day one. I had to ship it back to him to get it right and it took 4 days transit to get back to me.
They also said that, since I picked it up at their office and didn't note the condition of the package, they weren't liable.
They vacuum orally.

Fedex did that to me too. Said they tried to deliver but no answer. I was in the house all day, mostly in the room overlooking the garden. I think it's was a driver running late pretending it couldn't be delivered. Do the drivers have an allocated time frame to deliver all their packages?
My DHL story concerns the time when I worked for an cargo airline that carried DHL packages. They were so careless that packages constantly fell out. I remember chasing one across the ramp in a van. No one from DHL gave a fig. I was worried it would end up in a jet engine.

DHL stinks!!!! I had a remote controll airplane delivered to me from Arizona.
1st thing that happened...they delivered it to the wrong address. It took
4 days after that for me to get it. when I did get it it was badly damaged.
(box looked like and accordion)
I paid 300 for this bird and after it was all said and done,I got $100 from them.
They said because shipper didn't take insurance that's all the would settle for.
And then they sent the check to the wrong address. I had to fax 17 pages of
documentation to get it the claim solved.
I called to complain and the lady sent me $40 coupon for free shipping, she said she it would over-nighted.
It came a week later....Don't use them.

I get a lot things ground shipped. UPS, Fedex and DHL.
The only thing that has came on time from DHL is small packages such as paperwork, etc.

I've had DHL deliver packages to the wrong house and the driver swore he delivered it to the right place. But I last time I checked, I never accepted a package in a pink bathrobe, mysteriously while I was at work, and I was suddenly a female.
A second time I received a phone call from them (while expecting a package) and said that I had missed my opportunity of 3 attempted deliveries and that I had to pick it up at their office. I had no received any notices of missed deliveries (notes/stickers). I walked out of my apartment and over to the next set of buildings with a very different address clearly shown on the building. Well looky there, there's my notes! So after chewing some 'butt' they promptly delivered it to my place of work instead.
They customer phone support personnel are not friendly. And you're wrong all the time too btw.

They took two weeks to deliver a washing machine pump 55 miles in Indiana 3 years ago. I wouldn't use them at all no matter what size package I had to ship.
-
There airport location which is Colorado Springs bub station for them has the absolute worst rep here by any standards. They are involved in accidents every week, their people are the scum of the earth, and they beat the crap out of everything.

DHL informed my company last Wednesday that as of Friday they would no longer be servicing my area.
Yeah, that's two days notice. Very professional in my opinion.
I see a quick spiral down for DHL before they auger.

DHL delivers once weekly way out here in the netherlands 50 miles from FtWorth. When DHL finally does arrive you had better be standing in the driveway if you want your package delivered.
-
Didn't DHL alone, not Airborn Express, just went belly up, bought back by UPS?

The shipping company i have had luck with around here is Fedex. I recently built a new computer, and ordered all the parts UPSuck, because its half the price, well lets say i got half the service. It took one package 4 days to get here from 3 hours away, and i payed them for 3 day shipping. Whereas Fedex will tend to get packages from Dallas to here (10 hours away or so) overnight, on every shipping option except frieght. Another recent package from UPSuck got delivered to the wrong house, on the wrong road, not even in the right neighborhood, and... NO there isnt another road with the same name as mine in town, I live on Plantation, there are no Plantation Ave/blvd/etc.
The only DHfaiL package I've had delivered was from Cali, took 7 days to get "Here" at which point they turned it over to the USPS, and it took another day before i got it. If your gonna mail it once your in town, why not just mail it across the country?

I always use FedEx
plus I stay out to deliver all my packages til they are done. If I ring and knock and you dont answer(or let me know somehow you are home) in a minute, though you are getting your box tomarrow. Only exception was today when my brake caliper blew out and my truck was undrivable wit 50 some stops still aboard.

DHLd some old rudder pedals to a squaddie when I bought new ones. They were just 7 year old CH Pro pedals and still have a lot of life in them. DHL got them there no problem.

Been shipping spare parts from Europe to Iceland with DHL.
Was okay, but the mail is just a tad slower.
Now there is another one called TNT, and that one works together with the mail. They were allright as well.
Oddly enough, in the need of a winter job, I've considered to try offering a service like that, i.e. going and getting things from abroad that need to get here FAST. The idea comes from a grudgy experience when I needed spares from Denmark, found them, payd them and waited 10 days only to get the wrong ones. With 2-3 flights a day :furious. I lost some 2000$ because of it, the return flight is some$500.
The thumb rule with imports is that if you want to expect anything within 5 days, you must finish your deal on monday/tuesday.
DHL, TNT and the mail are closed over the week-ends.....
