Thus far the setup for this campaign has found VMF-251 seeing relatively limited action. Frame 1 we dog-piled scattered groups of 3-4 P-51s and P-47s, and in Frame 2 our only contact was forHim's P-51s, who we jumped on while they were busy with LCA.
However four pilots in VMF-251 on Friday distinguished themselves by doing the absolutely hardest thing for a fighter pilot to do in this game:
The pilots assigned to Blue Flight held their altitude and position, allowing the rest of the squadron to engage with relative security from the possibility of enemy reinforcements arriving at high altitude. For holding top cover despite the presence of enemy aircraft below, CpMorgan, Viper65, Grue and Herder have been recognized with the Commendation Medal.
