I remember seeing a preview for that movie in theaters a while back. I had mixed feelings about it. It could be awful and make you go to hell, but there may be some comic genious in it. It was hard for me to tell.

no thanks

Well, I thought Alan Patridge was hilarious, so I suppose I'll have to risk eternal damnation for this one :)

Is the movie of the same name? That actor was in one of my favorite films (24 Hour Party People) so I might like to see it.

No... it's from the movie Hamlet 2
Looks pretty hysterical to me :rofl

cute. personally tho, I'm against mocking spiritual beliefs of others, it only makes people angry or upset in exchange for a cheap laugh at their expense.
I get that the video is just a bit of trivial humor, and that it is fun to slap at people who may take themselves too seriously. but I wouldn't want my young kid to see this piece of misleading pop culture and be influenced to think that the "cool people" are one dimensional and purely matierialistic.

This is clearly less serious and more mocking than Jesus Christ Superstar, but I expect that it will receive much of the same controversy as Superstar. On one hand, the less serious nature may produce less criticism because it is so obviously ridiculous and may be viewed as unworthy of criticism. On the other hand the blasphemy also is much stronger which will definitely tick off extremists. Even so, I bet most main stream Christians will take it with a grain of salt and may even find it humorous. Thank goodness, however, we are not a predominantly Muslim nation and the part of Jesus is not Mohamed... Heads would roll.

Jesus Christ Superstar was brilliant and in no way mocking. Mocking any religion is rude and an invitation to turmoil.

Rock me sexy Allah.

Mohammed Ibn Abdullah, Ibn Abdul Mutalib, Ibn Hashem, Ibn Abd Zanat, Ibn Abd Kusay, Ibn Kilab, Ibn Murra, Ibn Kaab, Ibn Louay, Ibn Ghaleb, Ibn Fihr - superstar?

Superstar was brilliant, but it also created much controversy. Even in the late 1980's I remember church groups protesting a university production at my college.
