Title: Useful Troops

I can only imagine this would be a coding nightmare, but it is the thought that counts, right?

Is there a way troops could be deployed for other matters than just to capture a map room?  What about having them provide defense to a base vs ground targets?  What about allowing some sort of troop deployment to repair and re-man downed auto ack?  What about a way to deply troops for base or town defense?  Perhaps we could give them panzerfaust/schreck or bazooka anti-armor capaibility in a hail mary sort of way?  It is too bad that when there is a M3 or SdKfz "hiding" in the woods and an enemy tank comes rumbling by that the troops cant deploy and destroy the tank (via Gammons bombs or other anti-armor means).  It might make a tank driver think twice about chasing the enemy into the woods alone without jeep/M3/M8/troop, etc support.

With the coding already present, I'd imagine it would be easier to let the troops be AI as they are now (they act like zombies more so than as if they actually have any AI).

As you said coding nightmare for little pay off in fame play terms.

Now will some of these troops be cowards and some of them brave warriors? :D

I won't settle for this implementation unless we can award individual soldiers Medal of Honors or Victoria Crosses.  :D
