Hahaha. That first one is awesome! Good work, mate.
I hope that doesn't happen to my Falcon :noid :lol

Best be on the safe side and up-grade .......... to you know what
Holden

I'd love to see the V8 Supercars sometime. Marcos Ambrose is moving to Cup next year. I hope he does well.
-
stick with the falcon, it's genuine aussie heritage while the holden is just a massaged opel clone.
v8 supercars- apart from bathurst it's dead boring. let the euros and jappas back in to spice it up and i might start following it again.
and ford should ditch that 5.4 modular boat anchor and build a real engine, something along the lines of a ohc super cleveland would do the trick.

Q: How come Ford makes tractors and Holden doesn’t?
A: Holden can’t get one to run that slow!

The 5408cc FPV BOSS quad cam V8 engine is an awesome piece of work.
It's a shame that Ford are looking at going the way of the American cars and cease production if the venerable Falcon range.
It'll be just like another Commodore.

WTF are tyres? ;)
-
yep, it would be a sad day if ford ever dropped the falcon range from the aussie and kiwi scene. it's an icon that would be missed.. and there was a reason mad max didn't drive a holden!
i think the fg is a great looking car and i hate knocking a ford but the 5.4 fpv boss is a little disappointing. it's a complicated mill that needs an 11 to 1 compression ratio, 4 camshafts and 32 valves to make only 422 hp and 406 lb ft of torque.
an old lo-tech 351 cleveland can at least come close to matching those figures with it's 1 camshaft and 16 valves using mostly vintage stock ford parts and still behave itself enuff to run on the street using 98 pump gas. bolt the good aftermarket aussie goodies in and on the clevo and the boss would be positively anemic in comparison. but to be fair i'm biased towards carbed cast iron.

Yeah, I loved the old clevos, those engines could soak up more punishment than anything out there and keep on kickin'.
I had an old hardtop with a clevo in it that on a trip from Townsville to Gladstone and back used 20L of oil. The engine was still going strong but very noisily when I stripped it down. :lol
-
haha thats a watermelon load of oil, but you're right the clevo is tough as nails.
damn, the hardtops have gotten expensive and hard to get. i wish i had of bought one 15 years ago when an xb was offered to me dirt cheap. it was an unfinished project, the guy who owned it got bored with it. it was in good nick just needed paint and minor engine work.. i declined.. been kicking myself ever since
