Title: Reload/repair times for GV's
Post by: Soulyss on July 21, 2008, 02:27:43 PM
Thought just dawned on me reading another thread.  Currently the game has a 30 second delay time on aircraft re-arming at the field.  GV's on the other hand have instantanious rearm and repair in the field when supplies are dropped for them.

What about a similar delay in time for the GV to reload in the field? As it stands now a GV with supplies nearby can take a hit, lose the turret or engine, repair itself before the next round can be loaded and fired to finish them off.  With a repair/reload time a player would have to pull themselves out of the battle to a rear/covered position to effect repairs or reloads.  I would think it would change the dynamic of the gv battle significantly, would also help slow gv assaults on airfields.

How about instead we make planes sit on the rearm pad until their begging and pleading finally gets a well-meaning ally to drop "aircraft supplies" for them.   :noid  :t  :noid

Only if the Ally is called Joe.

Was going to start a topic on this, but I found this had been a brought up already.

I'd like to see a 15-30 second delay before supps take effect.  :aok

Good luck with that pulling back for repairs when they have shot your tracks off  :aok

As for slowing assaults on airfields, sure.  But before that we require more and heavier gun mounts in GV bases.  Planes destroy GV bases a whole lot easier than GVs drop airfields.....

Doh!

I was trying to avoid the "Why don't you do a search of this topic" post.  Instead, I got the holy effeminate robin bump post.   :(

It's kinda gamey that your turret can get knocked out, you click a button, and then kill the guy that just killed your turret a second ago.

I just would think that the guy that killed your turret should not get the smackdown before he can reload cause you have some MarioBros Magic Mushroom box of supplies.  :aok

Wouldn't guys just sit on this "pad" on the base and be invincible? well if they didn't get killed, but it's still possible.

I think that the issue at hand is the reload and repair times from supplies while away from the bases.  Not the re-arm pad.

When he states, "in the field"  I believe he means "in the field"....Not "on the field"(the rearm pad).  :aok
