I know each plane already has squad insignia, but why not take it a step further and have a pilots insignia painted on a plane as well? As an option, ofcourse.
For example, the spitfire has the squad insignia just underneath the front of the cockpit. A place on the rudder assembly for a 30x30 personal 'avatar' letting everyone know who'se in town?
Or maybe a more historically correct way that I cant think of right now to achieve a similar goal.. ? Suggestions please.

Well, although it would be cool :salute, noone else would probably be able to see it. Also, I'm not sure, but couldn't this also cause lag issues?

Well at least friendlies will be able to see it, and (hopefully) it shouldn't cause any more lag as the (some detailed) squad insignas on the tanks or planes.
I like it. :aok

Would be nice, but probably won't happen.

That is what Icons are for.

Personally don't like it.
Much of the squad art already looks tacky and detracts from the WWII atmosphere. Even though many will use WWII-esque art, the vast majority will use their CS sprays and other lame crap.
No thanks.

I like it, just make it the same as Squad Nose art. Make it to where you have to submit it in. :rock

Yeah thats a good point, motherland. Didn't think about it. Maybe if they would have to go through some approval process.. but then that would take too much time/manpower.
But I still think the idea is a good one.
