"I think it's serious. . . . It's a serious situation, but there's a lot of things we need to do. We have a lot of work to do and I'm afraid it's a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the Iraq/Pakistan border."
Do I need to post a map too?
Here is my commentary ----> Isn't that funny?

AS hilarious as Obama's 57 states. No more, no less.
Over the last fifteen months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states
<edit> I forgot about the other 4 he visited off the coast of Virginia. </edit>

AS hilarious as Obama's 53 states. No more, no less.
[simpsons voice]Ha Ha![/simpsons vioce]
Toad got it wrong 53 does not equal 57...
You are a shoo in for a VP nod.
>>edit>> oh, go ahead and correct it now.

People still debate if Wisconsin borders Canada.

People still debate if Wisconsin borders Canada.
Only if you cross the border in a boat.

obama was counting DC, LA, san fran, NYC, oleans, mexico and canada as states.
it's not obama's fault, his degrees are all in poly-sci.

Maybe there was something to Obama's speech location in Germany? I took as a look into Obama's presidential reign. Some say, just a dumb mistake.

That's great stuff. The wingnuts have clearly picked a winner.
-
Well, be fair. The wingnuts only had Hillary or Barack from whom to pick. The others really weren't in the race from the start.

My favorite definition, http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wingnut (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wingnut)
1. wingnut
n. An outspoken, irrational person with deeply-held, nominally conservative, political views. A person who chooses on principle to be flagrantly ignorant. A "right-wing nut".
Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and Fred Phelps are examples of the wingnut element in modern America.

Does McCain's campaign remind you a lot of Bob Dole's also?

That's pushing hidden meanings a bit far. If he spoke anywhere in Berlin, it would be in Hitler's capitol city. Munich?... the beerhall putsch. Nurenberg? The city of mass Nazi demonstrations. Landsberg? no, that's where he wrote Mien Kampf... Just where in the country is the spectre completely exorsized?

1. wingnut
...A "right-wing nut".
peanut does not equal pea nut.
A peanut is neither a pea or a nut.

majava... you got that definition from the new metrosexual dictionary? who would have guessed?

Simple gaffs like "all 57 states" and Iraq/Pakistan border are to be expected, and there's no reason to think them anything more than that. Both of these examples pale in comparison to Obama's latest. Speaking to Israeli media the other day, he was trying to convey how tough he is and will be when dealing with Iran. He said, and I'm writing this from memory, though the audio is available:
"Don't just listen to my words; take me at my deeds. Just the other day we passed legislation out of the [Senate] Banking Committee, my committee, that puts further restrictions on Iranian investment..." (emphasis added by me)
No what's wrong with this statement? Not only is Obama not the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, he's not even on that committee! How does that make it "his" committee? So to bolster his dubious claim of being tough on Iran and pro-Israel, he ether told a bold-faced lie (pathological problem, perhaps), or (and even more disturbing) doesn't even know what committees he's on. Come to think of it, I doubt very much he's on many Senate committees and is certainly not chairing any, being that (a) it's his first term, and (b) he's spent the majority of it AWOL to run for President.

He COULD have meant it that way as in Both the borders of Iraq and Pakistan have conflict on them.....
Just a thought but I'm gearing more towards a goof up.
-
Did Obama visit Peurto Rico?
US Virgin Islands?
Any other US owned Territories not recognized as states?
Just curious if he meant that - not defending - just wondering....

He had visited 47 states.
-
Obama meant to say 47 or 48 and said 57 or 58 instead. McCain clearly meant Afghanistan and Pakistan, and made a mistake. Isn't it wonderful... the election season I mean?

obama's teleprompter was not turned on. "ah ah ah 57 states"

His ability to distinguish the word 'ask' from the word 'axe' is already a big enough accomplishment. Getting the number of states down is a secondary concern.
