Ok, how come every fighter guy who comes to a baser can`t carry 1 bomb.Its easy to drop if you need to fight,or simply drop it on anything that would be useful then fight.I always carry atleast 1 bomb or a few rockets,not saying I am the greatest or anything but I do alright. :rolleyes:

I don't like the rack. It still applies drag and wight to the airframe after you drop it. Plus if I carry a bomb I can't carry a droptank. Plus, bomb= longer climb and wait until target.
When I'm in a 109E, F, or K, or the Ta152, I can't take a bomb anyway.
Why do armchair generals always complain about people not helping them take a base? I've never complained about someone not furballing with me.

Because they pay the same $ every month the rest of us do and maybe dont feel like bombing anything....maybe?

I know this may come as a complete and utter shock to you, so prepare yourself...
A lot of people couldn't give a rat's furry arse about taking real estate. A lot of people are only there to engage in air combat with other like-minded souls. Attempting to impose your goals and your idea of fun upon others is only going to bring you misery and heartache...This goes for life in general, not just this game. I worry about people who haven't figured this out yet. They're the ones dying in bewildered loneliness, one excruciating day at a time, until merciful death finally puts them out of their self-inflicted misery....

I know Vlad, I don't think he would do that. I honestly think he's just incredibly frustrated. Hopefully he's actually letting what we're telling him soak in and not just blustering for sympathy for his cause.

I only carry ords if I plan on specifically doing a ground attack. But then I don't often concern myself with base taking.
When I do choose to work towards those kind of goals I carry ords with me. I need to be in the mood for that type of action though.
I have always played this game mostly for the purpose of dogfighting and most of my time is spent with that purpose in mind. On top of that my preferred fighter does not carry ords and even if I take a fighter that would, I would not carry them unless I plan for the sortie to be mostly for the purpose of dive bombing. Carrying ords slows even the most powerful aircraft down considerably and I am usually looking to get back to the fight as fast as possible.
And besides it's my $15 and if I don't feel like dive bombing then guess what, I won't.

Simple, normal newbie and score tard activity. They are there for the easy kills vulch/pick nothing else. Capturing the base is of no interest to them unless they are low on gas.

If ya spent less time killing helpless buildings with 50 of your closest wingies, you might actually experience air combat, then mebbe get good at it, and discover a whole new aspect of the game

Well ok! So only reason for a bomb is to take real estate? ThaTS RIDICULOUS how many times have you heard somebody cry about field/town ack downing them? Maybe it`s just me but flying at the most 3 miles from our base with 10 to 15 other guys waiting to jump the first con in sight isn`t much fun. Then all you hear is " you stole my kill or hey i got the asst. wtf?" Then i fly 10 more miles see a con or 2,let them pass(since i know we got 15 guys waiting for them)Fly 5 more miles and suddenly theres the same thing. 15 enemy cons waiting in a pack. So i fly in drop on a target with 1 bomb or 2 maybe hit 3 ack with rockets.Climb out pass the field then turn and fight. Usually downing a enemy or 2 then rtb and most often then not end up killin the cons i passed on the way in since all our guys r slow from circling n hugging 3 miles out from our base. As for me not responding to the last post i generally just throw out my frustrations and see what others say,not that it really matters,but the old lady`s not hear for me to yell at!!

A pretend fighter pilot wants nothing to do with loading an ugly looking cartoon bomb on his pretty looking cartoon fighter plane. And this cartoon fighter pilot can't hit the ground with a bomb so it would be pointless for me to carry one. This cartoon fighter pilot has an aversion to cartoon flak too as it tends to put big pixilated holes in his cartoon fighter plane, if not completely pixilating him at times. It seems silly to play in the cartoon flak

Anyone whining about getting smacked by ack is either vulching or porking, either way that makes it their problem...I like to discourage vulching, even by my own team, that means specifically NOT helping take down ack...Nothing ends and otherwise good fight quicker than de-acking and vulching...

I think everyone understands what you are saying, but some guys (inlcuding me) go into an area with a specific mission in mind, and if I am in a Spit9 (no ord) or a Spit9, I'm going to want all the fuel I can carry so taht rules out the bomb for the Mk8. Also, some fighters have drastically reduced preformance when carrying ord, and some dont gain anything after they drop due to the mounting apperatus (Bf109?) so they are screwed outright.
I can and do take ord on a P47 or F6F when I can and I know the mission is dual purpose,.... but even then my primary mission is to ground pound and THEN be a fighter. You dont go into an area low and slow and expect to survive very long.

I don't care about ack since if I get anywhere near it I explode and I never have a problem finding guys to shoot at. At any given moment, about 80% of the arena has the same opinion.

Actually, I took bombs to a base capture just to help out, (I don't generally do that) anyway, just helping out some friends as thats what they like to do, cool, I'm in, I take bombs ,I miss, long story short i take off to go fight, get in a fight and only by the grace of God and several freinds clearing my six did I make it out, Now I'm not very good but this was pathetic, anyway one of them asks me if i was armed with a thousand pounder or was I just happy to see him.
So yes bombs can kill you, they are very dangerous and need close supervision.

If they wernt close to the base trying to vulch, they wouldn't have to worry about field ack killing them. The only legit complaint about ack is from CV's IMHO. I dunno how many times I've upped at a base that was being vulched by tards from a CV only to fight them back until they hide in CV ack. That is the lamest of the lame and the only time you will ever catch me with bombs is if tards from a CV have ticked me off and I decide to sink it.

Even in the A-20 I normally carry zero ords, its a question of mind set. On those rare occasions I have a specific intention I'll carry ords to accomplish the task. Lusche asked for some help a few nights ago to capture a base. I grabbed 8 x 500 and dropped them on the VH (or in the general area there of :D) and then got down to business...in the end I went in but not before I got 8 guys who were attempting to defend harass the GV attack.
Normally even in an A-20 I'm just looking for a fight. I dont care about our real estate, their real estate or who's "Winning". To be honest I really dont care if I "win" my fight. I'd rather lose a good 1 on 1 then land 6 or 7 tardlets/vulches...
Now when/if 71 Squadron goes "digital dirt" (and we do occasionally) I to anything needed from fly the goon to hauling iron, same thing if I elect to help out someone elses plan. The simple truth is that the "strategic war" has no real value beyond providing targets for the rest of us.

What's wrong with that one ROX? That's really the only time you get to use the ME-163. In fact, I may try to find some HQ Raiders after work. Still haven't flown the 163 in game yet and I can't wait. :D

Until the ship guns are blasted and broken. Seeing folk vulched on a CV and especially hearing howls of bewilderment is painful. Funny in a painful way.

Doing touch and go's off an enemy CV is always a good time

D9 have 20 min fuel w/o DT. 5-7 min to target area average, 5-7 rtb average. That'll leave ya 6-10 min combat time over enemy area w/o DT. To carry egg in D9 you have to sacrafy the DT O.o. Just doesn't compute omg ! brain overload :confused:

I don't take them because I always have a little fear in the back of my mind that the ground crew may have accidentally strapped a nuke under there instead of a regular bomb and when I drop it the whole map will splode instead of a few of those dangerous buildings.

What's wrong with that one ROX? That's really the only time you get to use the ME-163. In fact, I may try to find some HQ Raiders after work. Still haven't flown the 163 in game yet and I can't wait. :D
Absolutely, positively nothing wrong with it. I was just listing the many different facest of the game.
I spent a whole tour ones in a TA-152 popping HQ Raiders. I had a lot of fun and landed a lot of scalps.

yup, and id rather have more speed, all it does is weigh u down.. even if u drop, rack is still there.. and u r already going slower cause of it

I don't know what they are. You normally think of pilots as smart guys that actually know what they are doing. It is amazing when one of them calls and tells you something that he has heard from hsi buddy Jim Bob down at the airport. He will actually believe his buddy on issues of avionics and when we go to correct him, tells us that we don't know what we are talking about. Or you get the guy that sounds about as ancient as Moses calling for soemthing and you wonder how he still gets his medical. Had one come in to the shop and hand me his GPS for some work to be done and his hands were literally shaking. And he had just flown in and I know he hadn't scared himself in any way. On the whole most are pretty cool. But there are always those few characters.
