The number of Q models that saw action with the USAAF must have been small, because finding pictures of them is difficult. I actualy found this one online of all places.
The way the skin mapping is, it is not possible to put the white nose band as far forward as it should be, this is the best I can do.

Very beautiful skin, thank you.
:salute

Very nice Fencer, I lie the weathering, nice detail.
-
Where did this aircraft see action?
-
Panel-line stains seem a tad bit too dark along the tail IMHO. Other than that, brilliant!
-
SW Pacific Theater by the aircraft/ID markings (White Tail/Wing Leading edges)
Most likely New Guinea, Solomons or Northern Australia
The single white stripe around the nose most likely is the markings of a "Flight Leaders" aircraft. Squadron leaders usually had two stripes.

Very nice skin! :aok
Edit: There's a typo on the subject. "P-38Q"
-
Photograph is from New Guinea in May 1944. I believe they had them from the Fall of 1943. The P-39s were replaced by F-6Ds in November 1944.

Looks great, Fencer. Very few players will ever realize the white nose band isn't perfectly located.
Very well done, sir!
(Sure looks like I'm seeing the name "Fencer" in script above the exhaust manifold :lol)

Well it not up to your 38s, but its not bad. :)
That's "Teresa" as best as I can make out from the photo and the one decal sheet I stumbled across.

That 38 is all wrong Fencer..it's missing an engine AND the blender :rofl
-
Was the pilot to that aircraft famous? Just curious :D
-
You tell me.. I cannot find who the pilot was.

I found this cool link for some other Skin Ideas, you might be interested in. I'm still googling information. :aok

Sorry for the double post, but the pilots last name was Tate. Couldn't find his first name

The "restored" P-39 painted as "Little Sir Echo" is not a Q model with the 37mm.
I have the decal sheet, it was one of two references I found.
The other was as shown below and much more authentic and usable. :aok
