Hello All
I know this might sound like a dumb question but is wind direction in AH the direction that the wind is heading or the direction that the wind is coming from? :noid
-
I believe it is the direction it is blowing.
-
I think it is too but in real life it's the direction from which the wind is blowing, or the direction that the old barn wind vane is pointing. I'm only asking because if it is the direction that the wind is blowing, our strategy can change significantly.

In AH, you set your from wind direction.
So, if you set it as 090. then the wind will be blowing from east to west.
180, from south to north.
same as real life.

Thanks

As long as we are talking about wind direction I would like to add a comment :) (sorry Sled)
For the last half dozen or so set ups I've seen an increased use of wind direction via layers to throw off bombing the problem is with the current set up you are not allowed to adjust the bomb sight accordingly.
I've never pitched a complaint with out trying to give a solution to the issue so here are a couple of ideas:
(1) tone down the wind direction stuff all together :)
(2) switch to the manual calibration mode during FSO's.
I know #2 will not be popular for part time buff pilots but if said pilots take the time to learn it they will be able to flame a VH at 30,000 feet through five layers of wind shifts.
