All,
I just read Sen Obama's speach. Something is wrong in it. I can't put my finger on it, it's just something. It is VERY well done, but after reading it I feel as we should be using the Euro and not the dollar? Stop the fighting in Africa, because we feel it is wrong (it is). That would take a war.
I just don’t feel right about?
Just something……..
-
What are you talking about?
-
His speach in Berlin today

"I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before. Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen -- a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world."
"People of Berlin -- people of the world -- this is our moment. This is our time."
====
I think even obama his self is starting to buy into the obama is messiah mania. Should be an interesting ride.

You think maybe he should have been a bit more arrogant? What would you have said differently?

I'm just wondering if he is going to fly back to the states, or just walk back across the Atlantic.

I'm wondering how we could do that exactly. Short of killing everyone there that is. Anyone remember Somolia?
-
wasting your time.. the legions of mojavas will never get it.
I agree that it is a close thing with wab or moot tho.

"Ich bin ein Berliner"....does that ring a bell?
-
exaggerated...
he is not the President, but got the place and aprox 100 000 visitors like a President ;)
Not one german Politician get this stuff done LOL, exaggerated...
The Speech? well he need partners for the Future, especialy Europe, thats all i heard.
-
This guy is starting to make me religious. And I don't mean that in a GOOD way. :uhoh

Apparently our main messiah currently preaching the obamagospel to the downtrodden euros has opted to skip out on visiting wounded American servicemen, due to the fact that his trip overseas is funded by political campaign money. I think he should have visited the troops recovering in Germany. Just one more reason to be suspcicious of his character.......

snippet:
"Obama had been planning to go to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany before a flight to Paris. Gibbs said the stop was canceled because Obama decided "it would be inappropriate to make a stop to visit troops at a U.S. military facility as part of a trip funded by the campaign."

My Gawd! Must be nice to have the press give you such a pass.
He was asked a question about the middle east and pretty much stammered. No more questions about that allowed.
-
Just another pathetic case of Obama "pretending" to be president. Should be interesting to see what he pulls if he loses the election by a slim margin... I predict that he'll plead to be "spotted" 10% of votes in the name of affirmative action :D

Obama's speech was nothing short of amazing. According to CNN over 200,000 people attended his speech. Yes that's right 200,000!!!! Americans and citizens throughout the world are infatuated with this man. I think this trip will hopefully give Obama a big jump in the polls. I can't wait to see what happens on his next stops.

If americans were paying attention, they'd see he was pandering to foreigners, as if they got to vote.

I'm sure if Obama became President he would try to allow other countries to vote in our elections in the future.

Hey, I'll be voting for him. If he really is as kooky as he portrays himself as, and not the middle ground Democrat we sometimes see now, it'll kick off the revolution that much sooner.

I don't know if it was the best speech ever, but it sure beats "fer us or ginst us *snicker*".

From David Brooks of the NYT, he concludes, "Obama has benefited from a week of good images. But substantively, optimism without reality isn’t eloquence. It’s just Disney."
There's the linky ----> http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/25/opinion/25brooks.html?_r=1&ref=opinion&oref=slogin
I know Brooks from watching him on the News Hour which means I don't know him much. He seems to be a common sense sort of guy with no particular axe to grind.

Mama always said: "people who *snicker* are untrustworthy and prone to lying."

He could tell the world that he is going to kill the white man and make it look so good, white people will vote for him...
-
nice to see there are many kool aid fans in europe too ....
the story isn't the bro's speech, it is the pass the mainstream press is giving this guy in their attempt to get him into the WH ... amazing

The Times has the best coverage:
From there he went forth to Mesopotamia where he was received by the great ruler al-Maliki, and al-Maliki spake unto him and blessed his Sixteen Month Troop Withdrawal Plan even as the imperial warrior Petraeus tried to destroy it.
And lo, in Mesopotamia, a miracle occurred. Even though the Great Surge of Armour that the evil Bush had ordered had been a terrible mistake, a waste of vital military resources and doomed to end in disaster, the Child's very presence suddenly brought forth a great victory for the forces of the light.
And the Persians, who saw all this and were greatly fearful, longed to speak with the Child and saw that the Child was the bringer of peace. At the mention of his name they quickly laid aside their intrigues and beat their uranium swords into civil nuclear energy ploughshares.

Americans really do need to pay more attention to their voting record instead of speeches.
