Well, now that I am back to the *land of the living* after British Airways attempted to poison me on my return flight (see the end of the post), I now present a quick overview of my visit to the UK with my son.
Left Bermuda on Thursday night. Great flight, my son slept almost the whole way, and were duly picked up at the airport at about 6.30am Friday morning and driven to my step sister's place.
The driver handed me the keys to my father's car and after making sure Trew was settled in at the house I drove to Farnborough to attend a lunch at a family friend's *chalet* at the Show. I then drove back to pick up my son and we then took off for Bristol to meet up with Swoop.
Got to Bristol and overnighted in a hotel. Headed to Swoop's place, picked him and his lady friend "Rosemary" up, and headed back to Farnborough.

Yea, my wife looks more like Lucy Lui. ;)
Thx Eskimo.
Vulcan...apologies, but Swoop wouldn't let me into his room with my camera. :)
I forgot to mention that on the way home on British Airways we were served lunch. Smoked salmon starter followed by a lamb dish.
3 or 4 hours later they served *tea* which normally I am "all over" because they serve scones and clotted cream, but for the first time in years I declined because I wasn't feeling too sharp. This feeling gradually got worse and worse until I ended up at home and told my wife that I was pretty sure I had food poisoning. I cloistered myself in the spare room which has its own bathroom and dozed off mentally preparing myself for a night of hell.
It started around 11.00pm. Every half an hour after that point I was up to vomit...and not only out of my mouth trust me.
I *surfaced* about 7.00am the next morning feeling totally dehydrated and drained.
I, Curval, will never EVER eat another meal on BA again.
-
But they have clotted cream! How will you resist?!

Clotted cream is delicious. Better than parfait even.
All I gotta do to resist though is remember how I was throwing up into a trash can while the force of doing so caused me to vomit from my butt into the toilet.
Enjoy that image.

Ugh... I've been there myself, and it's a horrible experience. I had to work to make sure the poisoning didn't put me off Shanghai wonton noodle soup forever... that would be letting the terrorists win, ya know? ;)

Why you wearing jackets? Don't they do summer in England?
-
I'm surprised you all have such good teeth. :aok

I dunno why I bothered taking any pics...Swoop's are better than mine.
That statue freaked poor Trew out when it moved.
lol

Not this year apparently. It was nice in the sun but COLD when the clouds came over.

So ya never got the chance to don the "Pink Shorts" in London.
Bet you couldn't resist trying to peek in those apartments while riding the "Eye".

Awesome photos!
Great to see players RL!

Curval, weren't you nervous posing in front of a statue that has a gun? :D

Looks like you had a great time - would have liked to have made it. Nice photos.
Hey Curval - reckon it was the salmon - could you smell it was off?

I have a couple of others say the same thing. It wasn't a traditional smoked salmon either, it sort of looked like a small salmon steak that was smoked. It tasted a bit strong but not nasty....gamey is how I would describe it.
Anyway, I'd rather not dwell on it, my stomach still reacts whenever I even think about the meal.
:)
-
You should be here this weekend mate, Christ it's hot.
Anyway, still deciding on a handle for Rose. We're leaning towards "Difficult" but are still open to suggestions, anyone?

I don't blame you mate! :) At least it afflicted you on the way home and didn't ruin your trip.
We're flying BA to Jo'burg in October as part of our honeymoon, and my worst nightmare is getting food poisoning at any part of the trip, nevermind on the way out there. I should think safari etc with a screwed up digestive system would be a disappointing experience.

Any nickname I'd suggest would get me Skuzzinated. :(

I see you ran into Richard Dreyfuss! Very cool!

Have a great honeymoon man. Just don't eat the meal on BA. You are right, I was lucky to not have it on the way there.
LOL Rip. I'll take Dreyfus over Stan Laurel, which is who Swoop constantly says I look like...although Rosemary disagreed with him so he may have changed his mind on that now.

Nah, definately not Stan Laurel.
Hey, now what are the odds that you guys got pics of both Dreyfuss AND Pierce Bronson on the same trip? Day-um! :rock

Actually, Rose is a nice handle.
Jugs would be a funny handle, but she'd get constant harassment.
& speaking clearly from the "name in lights" aspect of it... "anewgirl" would be funny.
You have been shot down by a new girl. I'd definitely consider the system sentences. =)
Like "yourex..." completely hilarious. :)

Salmon shouldn't taste gamey, were the edges a bit dry. If so it was probably quite old.

Yep, Salmon has the least "fishy" taste to it of most salt water fish. Red Snapper probably the most fishy (from my experiences)

Swoop, the warner bros thread made me think of a name suggestion: Lola

Swoop, the warner bros thread made me think of a name suggestion: Lola
Swoop is likey to be far to likey to be too familiar with the Kinks song "Lola"
Well I'm not dumb but I can't understand, why she walk like a woman but talk like a man oh my Lola"
Rosemary is all woman, not a tranny.
;)
I was going to suggest "dimples", because she has very cute dimples on her cheeks when she smiles.
-
Er......what?!
-
Er......what?!
What what?
The dimples thing? Her face cheeks!!!
If you mean the Lola thing...surely she wouldn't want THAT as a handle?
-
meh... leave it to me to suggest a pop-culture icon of tranvestitism (is that a word?)...
and there I was just thinking of Bugs Bunny's swanky bunny girlfriend.
Oh well
