Hi, I've been trying to sort out some odd symptoms with my X-52 (standard version).
Basically, what's happening is that when I move the throttle through its full range of motion, the "Controller Settings" screen in Aces High shows that axis as moving through its entire range of motion (as in it goes from 0 to 65535), however it has a negligible affect on my aircraft. In other words, I move my throttle all the way forward, and my plane (usually a B-25H :D) moves forward on the runway very, very slowly. When I engage WEP on the aircraft whilst at 'full joystick throttle', it comes on, and when I run out of WEP/disengage it, the Manifold Pressure and RPMs sink to their really low level.
Please note that this is in addition to the usual X-52 intermittent problems (which I seem to have gotten rid of for now, since yesterday). This problem with my throttle started shortly after my stick began losing calibration yesterday (coincidentally when I was in a B5N2 versus a Bf-109, I managed to get a ditch :D). I am going to try and get a powered USB hub as soon as possible.
Anyway, I reinstalled Aces High, and tested it out with the brand new unadjusted settings, and everything worked perfectly after I calibrated my stick in-game. I then put my old stick settings etc into the new install, and the same throttle problems started up again. Here is a comparison between the text file for my stick settings (the first one is the DEFAULT settings [which work], and the second one is my custom Aces High settings, which produce the above problem):
DEFAULT:
Z Axis
0,32767,65535,0.050000,0.100000,0.000000
AXIS,THROTTLE_1,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
CUSTOM AND DON'T WORK:
Z Axis
0,65535,65535,0.050000,0.100000,0.250000
AXIS,THROTTLE_1,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
NOTUSED,NOTUSED,0,0
Could someone please explain the differences between these two extracts, and tell me why the second one doesn't work. Any suggestions as to why this has happened would be appreciated, as I'd like to try and avoid this in the future. By the way, I don't recall doing anything other than recalibrating and removing any scaling on my Z Axis in Aces High in the time before this problem popped up.
Thanks for any help, and <S>

Your problem might have to do with you mapping the RPM to a slider or a rotary (and having the RPM slider/rotary at center position), that's a possibility why you're not getting the full RPM/MAN without WEP.
-
I've had it mapped like that for a few weeks, and this is the first time I've had it causing problems. I'm beginning to think that it's caused by when I calibrate my stick, I need to calibrate all analogue inputs (rotating things and sliders as well), otherwise this begins happening.

when i calibrate my stick (X-52) i have to do ALL my analogue inputs in one go or the ones i dont do go haywire.
-
Yes, you must calibrate the slider and dials also, if mapped, whenever you calibrate. The second file shows that the limits of the axis (65535 to 0.000000) were not set.
-
I've sort of decided that it's easier to copy the calibration numbers into the text file rather than actually calibrate... :D
Also, what do all the numbers in the text file represent?
I think the first three (0,32767,65535, represent the outer 'limits' of the axis and the midpoint, but what about the others?

I might be wrong in my theory, but in the Default settings the following 32767 would be the complete OFF throttle setting with zero being the middle detent of the Z Axis and 65535 would be MAX Throttle
in the Custom settings you have 65535 as the complete OFF throttle setting and same for complete Max Throttle..this is possibly only giving you 1/2 throttle response or something similar to this effect....I might be wrong but that is what I am getting from it.
Why can't you edit your custom settings for this particular problem and use the Default settings and over write this particular custom setting.....so problem solved? one would think.........
good luck

32767 is mid value (half throttle). Same value on X and Y axis is when stick is centered.
Easy to check on clipboard/stick mapping. You can see how values are changing when you move throttle/stick...

When you use the "Options->Controls->Calibrate" on the stick, it imperative to move all controls to their fullest extents.
If you have a problem with a particular axis, then you can go to "Options->Controls->Map Controllers", select the axis, the hit the "Calibrate Axis" button, which allows you to calibrate the selected axis without effecting the others.

Ok, thanks for all your help everyone. :aok
I've decided to calibrate each and every axis separately, and so far I haven't had any more problems. When I do get those RPM troubles, I'm just editing the .txt file directly as suggested.
