...when the original primary guns are empty. That way (e.g.) the 190A8 guns or (hypothetical) Me410 20 and 30mm's can be fired separately, without having to code for a third trigger..

Good idea especially when the 410 arrives ;)

Maybe make it happen at the press of a designated button, so the new players don't get confused by an automatic switch.

im thinking a new alt command?

Maybe it'd just be best to link every firing option in the historical manner...
All .50s firing with just primary trigger, for US planes...
Primary trigger firing the inboard cannons and cowl guns, secondary trigger firing outerwing armament for 190s..
Primary trigger firing cowl guns for 109s, secondary cannons, gondolas will be "switched ON" like any other ordnance with the use of the backspace key, so will be fired with the secondary trigger when it is ON...
... historicity and consistency.. only price we have to pay being having to hear whines for about a month until the guys used to arbitrary AH depiction finally just adapt to it...

Would be nice especially on the A8, because I'd like to save my 30s sometimes.

I like it. Good thinking moot. :aok

I think it should be exactly how the original planes were. If the 190's had two sets of triggers and not three... then so be it in AH2 as well. If the P51D only has two triggers, then so be it here in AH2. Ditto for all other aircraft as well.
yeah, I know it isnt the most ideal to watch the cannon ammo counter go down and down and know that both 30mm and 20mm are being spent at the same time... but hey... this is a sim, not Team Fortress. :)
