Title: Who would you have rather had for presidential nominees?
Post by: angelsandair on July 29, 2008, 05:44:56 PM
Well, for Republican and Democrat.

Not that the ones we have are bad, but who would you have wanted instead of who we have?

Me personally, Mitt Romney for Republican and (my view has severly changed since Jan, Feb, Mar....) Democrat, Hillary now, it seems she actually worked to get where she is and seems less extreme than Obama.

Ron Paul has shown himself to be such an idiot.

As for a candidate of my choosing?  I choose myself.  No one else is capable or willing.

Rep:  Colin Powell
        Mitt Romney, VP

            vs

Dems:  Michael Bloomberg
          Wesley Clark, VP

THAT would be a race.

Dems would get flushed though.

I'm almost certainly going to vote for Obama since the Republicans deserve to be punished for the Bush presidency.

But I would have voted for Rudy Giuliani.  I think he's one of the very few true heros among our politians, and I knew who he was and what he did long before 9-11, even though I live in Indiana and grew up in Michigan, and have no ties to New York.  He really was "America's Mayor".  I know he's no saint, but the best heroes have their own faults and I'm fine with all of his.

Most of all, I agree with Rudy's stances on just about every issue you can name, other than him being a Yankees fan.  IMO he would have made the best President.  McCain should make him his Veep.

On the democratic side, I can't really say there's anyone who stands out.

All of the choices we have left suck... I wanted Fred Thompson or Duncan Hunter for Republicans... If I had to choose a democrat, it would be Doug Bernard or Zell Miller

I am voting FOR Bob Barr this November

Republicans deserve to be punished for the Bush presidency.

They already did...two years ago.  They voted in Pelosi and a democrat majority and all of us are being punished for it now.

Thats a pretty dumb reason, punish regular citizens for something you disagree with.

Well the alternative to Bush was a bigger dimwit in both elections... kind of what we have now on both sides; Al Gore who will eventually destroy the world and Kerry that would appease and shuck and jive and throw money around but do nothing of substance... you know kind of like another Clinton.

Sitting here I just thought of the perfect title for this election between the Dinousaur has been and Wet behind the ears never was.

This election is a joke. Something more fitting to a really poorly written TV sitcom
And the title.

"The Teaser and the Geezer"

Hey folks.......facts are facts!!
This has to make you think a little bit, if not, then keep your blinders on!

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years.  The first six the economy was fine.
A little over one year ago:
            1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
            2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
            3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
            4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
            5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations o'seas, living large!...

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'!   So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST YEAR:
            1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
            2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
            3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
            4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by 12 Trillion dollars & prices are still dropping!!!!
            5) At least 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
            6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another  low~~11,100--
            $2.5TRILLIONDOLLARS  HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR  STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

YEP , IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE!...AND WE SURE AS HELL GOT IT!!!....NOW  OBAMA, the DEM'S CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT--AND THE  POLLS SAY HE'S GONNA BE 'THE MAN'--CLAIMS HE'S GONNA REALLY GIVE US CHANGE!!....JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YA THINK YOU CAN STAND???!!!!????
