 :rofl

Exactly. Which is why I'm not petitioning for a giant flying aircraft carrier. I want a simple, basic, no-frills airborne resupply/repair pad.

No huge gondolas and hangars, no giant hydrogen-filled balloons with metal skeletons...just a rudimentary flying chunk of runway that quickly and efficiently repairs and reloads battle-worn aircraft.

After that clarification, I can only assume that you're onboard with this.

An airplane.. nay.. warplane is less technically sophisticated than a ship?

Hi.  My name is Drone.

I used to be a slipknot hater.

Until, one day, he posted about using paintballs instead of 'live' ammunition.

After a prolonged chuckle attack, I began to see the error of my ways.

I now appreciate the sick, twisted bastard for what he is, and am enjoying it.

Definately some Gary Larsen influence ( I do so miss those cartoons )

I dont think it's a troll, just annoying.
A troll is someone who posts objectionable (possibly annoying) content to get an angry out of people.
In being funny he is unintentionally trolling people who seem to take everything seriously.
As a result of this, his threads go from 'funny' to 'hilarious'.

The O' Club
Open forum for off-topic and less serious discussions.

If this thread is simply a joke as are most of his threads, then seems to me that he should take his nonsense there where it belongs.  Either that, or change the description on this forum to "O' Club Too" and be done with it.

And he can take all of his ankle humpers and shade accounts with him.

This thread is getting off topic, so I'm going to go ahead and put it back on topic.

Airborne rearm/repair pads... A good idea on its own, but how about this little addition:

while the plane is getting repaired/rearmed, the pilot should be equally recharged/augmented. I'm thinking a couple shots of espresso, or in the case of the japanese pilots (as determined by plane), some meth.

Here is how I think this function should be carried out:

the pilot sits and waits while plane is recharged. When he is ready to go again, hsi reaction/response times should be about 20-40% quicker than before. This will be hard to accomplish, but can be addressed in a couple different ways:

1.)  Slow down the response speed of any planes that happen to be flying within, say 3000-4000 yards of the subject plane.

2.)  Induce micro-warping of the subject plane, where the planes around him only see 1 out of 4 or 5 frames of his movements.

I think that this can and should be done, and will at the very least address the issue of Japanese pilots taking Meth before leaving on their sorties.

A good idea just became spine-tingling!!

Fiber is always good.

I would caution Angels, however, as too much fiber in his diet might result in a toilet hopelessly full, and a cranium hopelessly empty.

Weazely should probably be careful around the bran muffins as well.

To be frank with you fellas, I don't know why this hasn't happened yet--both in real life and in the near real life situation that we like to call Aces High II.

Here's how it works...

You're damaged. Shot up in a dogfight, perhaps took some flak fragments while flying over a CV, perhaps felt the wrath of the killshooter... Your plane is smoking. You're not gonna make it home.

What do you do?

Simple. You press a pair of keys and BANG! an airborne resupply pad appears in front of you like a giant flying carpet. (Okay, so it's made of concrete, but it's basically a flying carpet).

It appears with an airspeed differential of a few mph from your plane, so you just slide the wounded bird in and in a few seconds, you're good as new. Repaired, reloaded, ready to fight indefinitely.

Ships have drydocks, right.. So why the hell doesn't something so much smaller and less technically sophisticated have its equivalent? I have no idea. Engineers must be total idiots because this is the most obvious thing ever. A repair pad on the landing strip is so inconvenient and hard to get to (your plane is damaged, for god's sake, how can you be expected to get back there in time)--I don't know why they even bothered.

Oh yeah, and it'll cost some perks, but just imagine the 'perk' of seeing your enemy almost kill you and then come right back with a mint condition plane?

That would be hype.

Engineers are fools.
