I believe the answers are no and no.
The ME does not have any control over the CV's.

i'm not shure if this works in the mission editor . but to jump a cv you need to make a waypoint closer to midway then type .jumptg 10 <---the cv's number and hit enter this moves the cv to that waypoint .

A question I have about the moving CV with regards to the Okinawa map is how can you get enemy dive bombers to attack the fleet when they are moving even in the ME? Any target you set for attack or drop ordinance will be a waste of ammo since the fleet will not be in the position during the game that you set for the target in ME? Any ideas or solutions or should I just forget it and stick to all fighter v fighter? I am trying to get a divebomber and torpedo flight to hit ships with fighter escorts. Thanks.

It's all about timing. When you set up the initial mission make your drop-ord target at an exact location say the intersection of a grid line. Once in offline mode its simply a matter of having your carrier group arrive at the target location at the precise time the ord is dropped. Which takes a bit of hit and miss practice. In the old me I had set up a carrier strike mission that after a bit of practice I was able to have the torpedo bomber actually sink several ships in the carrier group. One thing I've noticed though is the Task Group ack has no effect whatsoever on the attacking aircraft unless a player is actually in one of the aircraft.

I got the timing figured out finaly and got the bombers to drop their ordnace with direct hits :rock. And to share what I found out about this it helps to use a stopwatch and put the map on pause in mission editor. Also, I found that when you run the mission, the CV's start moving the moment you select to play offline practice and in the time between when the game starts up and you go into the menu to select what mission you want, the carriers are moving from their initialization point and keep moving while the mission loads. So when your mission starts, the CV's will have moved from their starting point. Clear as mud? ;) Also, is it possible to create a flight that takes off from a carrier?
