During night time, explosions on ground level should be seen from long distances as flashes on the horizont. Aircraft explosions or aircrafts on fire should be seen from longer distances that the normal black dot shown in daytime.
-
Something like in Falcon 4 ?
Allways loved to look those flashes on the ground in front-line!
-
Exactly like Falcon4. Each explosion or fire should be a light source, like the sun, but weaker and, in the case of explosions, of very short duration.
-
Lets see the tracers from AC and ack being more visible and from a gretter distance, like the in gulf war film footage.
-
yes yes lets kick sadam
-
even if ground flashes were implemented it would be kinda hard to see them unless you could turn down the gauge/map lighting in the cockpit.

Yes, I love the night flying, and fires in the distance would rule (runway fires to guide you home, anyone?), but we desperately need a dimmer for all the text that comes up on the screen: radio buffer and the framerate stuff at top along with plane icons. They mess with my "night vision" too much.

Stars in the sky would be nice too !
