Title: One Airplane catigory
Post by: meddog on August 05, 2008, 12:54:52 PM
I would like to see the fighter/attack catigories merged into one catigory and was told this couldn't be done because some aircraft dont carry any ord at all.  I fail to see why this is a problem?  Eithe you make ord available for an aircraft or you don't.  why do we need to segregate between fighter or attack?

They have every other Catigory of rides that are broken down to air stats and ground stats with out picking a flight catigory before take off.  Except bomber attack.  Maybe they chould combine that too.

It's all based in the scoring. I'm too zombie from not sleeping to go through it all right now, but it basically lies in whether or not Air-to-Ground kills of objects and players are counted, whether hits on objects are counted, and encourages to select along with how you plan to fly your sortie.

They are segregated because jaboing is often more dangerous than free-hunting. You are by definition rather low, most often dealing with acks and flack, laden with bombs, and a prime fat target for enemy fighters.

If peoples fighter and jabo kills and losses were tied together, there wouldn't be enough people strapping bombs to a fighter. Although those who do might actually TRY to survive their sories...I dunno.
