Title: Enemy Identification
Post by: Topper on August 05, 2008, 01:36:32 PM
After having played all versions of the Battlefield franchise i reckon AH2 could really benefit from a revised way to spot enemies. In battlefield 2 you always know where your allies are. But enemies don't show up, meaning more chances for chance battles and close quarter combat. By reducing the distance from 6k to say 2k means both noobs and pros would have to use a bit more skill to scan the horizon. Might make the game a bit more interesting. Plus it shouldn't affect balance as noobs and pros as some of the advantage would be lost. It really made a nice difference for battlefield and it could really work for Aces.
What do people think?

SEARCH  :rofl

This is not requested as often as the B29 or Catalina. Searching for it would take some time, and it appears veteran members of the forums have more success searching for these "rare" topics as opposed to newer members such as yourself.

Perhaps people wouldn't mind reading the long response if you learn some more English?

Every one of your posts takes 3-4 minutes to read due to your 2nd grade grammar skills.

Motherland, I figured you of all people would understand that some people have English as a second language.

People who speak English as a second language generally make more mistakes when it comes to verb conjugation, subject/verb placement, and the 'quirks' of English spelling. You can also usually tell by the way they spell phonetically. I'm confident that English is his native language.

Yes, quite true. Yet even other countries have people who type the same as our teenagers. We can't say for certain unless he lets us in on the situation. (Hint hint, nudge nudge.)

So I will simply suggest he learn some more proper English. :aok

What do people think?

1) Dot chasing is not fun.  I remember once spending about 10 minutes chasing a dot in an arena with a 3,000 yard icon range.  After 10 minutes of not being sure if I were gaining slowly or losing ground slowly I discovered that I had been chasing another rook.  He discovered that he had been running away from another rook.  Some people run from potential fights.  This just makes it harder to tell who you are chasing/running from.

2) You would be simulating pilots who are legally blind and would not be eligible for a driver's license in the US.

So it would decrease both the number of fights and it would, arguably, decrease realism.

Bad idea.

Read a few books! How about we start with the Old Testament in the KJV, that will get your brain turning. Afterwards read some  novels paying attention to words you know nothing about and how they are used in context with the story. :aok

Yes, but not everybody agrees with that.  Notice I was the aggressor in my story, so you can tell my basic position.

I don't know what I'd rather read...

The Old Testament or my Civil Air Patrol Leadership Manual  :O

I'm goin with the leadership manual...
Anyone in CAP knows how FUN that book is...least they let you mark it in highlighter... I like to change between yellow and orange frequently so I can go 'WOAH!! IT'S ORANGE NOW!!'...it helps to keep you awake...  :aok
