Recently to my first delight, I came across the free-downloadable version of "Warbirds" 2004
on "Gamershell.com", down loaded and began playing. For the most part I was quite happy with
it and especially enjoyed the editor build and CV action,(except for the "visual-wiggles as the CV
turned). When you edited and built a mission,it went straight to the "Instant Action" list and there you
just clicked straight into it. The only other thing on the pre-update version was for the WW1 planes,
they didnt have the proper skins,or the skins at all,but that was fine too since I was more into
the WWII side of it anyhow. But then,...I update. The updated WB04,your built missions do NOT
go to the Instant Action list, and the CV when you try to make it playable, theres some kind
of "error" glitch as the WB screen gos out?? The only way to play your "edit" games on the
update is after you load the plane and vehicle files, then you play straight off the editor itself??
There were some other dislikable plane and file glitches also that I didnt mention, and I
understand this is a Full-Game download off of "Gamershell",but surley this isnt something they
done purposley because its a "Free-One"?? :huh

Warbirds was the premier flight sim of all time. I loved 2.77r3 so freak'n much. What an amazing game that was! But alas management changed and the folks who helped created it moved on to bigger things (AH :rock)
That being said... any glitches you see are simply because IEN are a bunch of idiots that let something wonderful die. Not because the game was a freeby

When HiTech and Pyro left iEN I had the common sense to follow them here.

LOL nope thats just WBs. Imagin paying at first 2 bucks an hour then later on 25 a month to put up with stuff just like that year after year. It starts to make sense why WBs is dieing a slow horrible death. Dynamite is right, back in the good ole days of 2.7X it was a lot of fun. I bet I'll have to work an extra year before Im able to retire because of all the money I spent playing that game, but it was worth every penny :aok

pretty much the same
although i hung around for a bit coz i was getting a free lunch with the raider wars beta. loved that game, and i would have payed to play it as many others would have. i was really pissed with the way ien dropped it..screw ien and aol, the players and game deserved better. there was no chance i was going to spend 1 cent at ien after that.
