I'm curious about this one...I wish I had whipped out my phone to take a picture, but I was too busy staring. Just as I finished walking my girlfriend home, two planes flew over me in formation out here that looked a little like SBDs...they're painted pretty nasty (look like racing colors) but I could see places where pylons belonged. At first I thought they were SBDs, but they kinda had that "older" aura to them, like they were a precursor of some sort. Pretty sure they were headed toward Whidbey NAS, but I'm not sure on that either. According to mom, there's a bunch of old birds out there right now, but these two are the only ones I've seen.
Any ideas?

A T-6 would look slightly similar from below.

I feel retarded for not thinking of that. That's a good possibility...

Did they look like this?

Here in Oregon I saw a similar plane. Looked like a TBM or SBD, the one I saw was painted a bright yellow color IIRC, and had the American insignia on the wing. Air show thing perhaps?

My pic went away.

How many SBDs are still flying?

Sounds like some At-6s I saw recently at an airshow. They were bright yellow.
