My current video card is the nvidea GeForce 7950 GX2. do I need to upgrade?
Thanks,
Steve

If you are referring to the Matrox TripleHead2Go device. It connects to a video card and then drives the three monitors. Al you have to do is set the horizontal resolution to the total of the three monitors.
For example, if you have three monitors that support a horizontal resolution of 1440, then you would set your game horizontal resolution to 3 & 1440 = 4320.
Now, you have to have a video card that can actually drive that type of resolution. The Matrox device takes the one screen image and divides it up to be shown across the three screens when in a game.

Your 7950 GX2 will support 3840x1024 (3x 1280x1024) and 4080x768 (3x 1360x768) in triplehead mode for 2 & 3D apps in digital mode.

I just do not know what kind of performance you would have in the game at that high of a resolution.
-
With SLI you'd get about half the FPS on triplehead versus single monitor.
EDIT:
That's for tests with CPU challenged games. With some results were better (2/3 in avg). For AH, well, somebody has to try it :D

i will post my info here cause i want the three screens SWEET

After this update Skuzzy will not buy christmas presents for hitech. :lol :D :devil

Wel I think that would be ok. I'm getting over 300 fps now.

I hate you. :frown:

Question,
will the game recognize 2 monitors on the same video card and allow me to set a resolution for/and display on both of them, or do I have to have the "Triple Head 3 Go" to take advantage of the multiple monitors?
Thanks, Kotrenin

Same question for me.

Perhaps this thread is a candidate for a sticky for awhile, Skuzzy? :aok

You have a 300Hz monitor?

I'm basing it off reports from AHII. My monitor is fairly middle of the road, I assume. Samsung 244T

Yeah its a 75Hz monitor. You must have vsync off which I think is a mistake but Skuzzy can correct me if I am wrong. Three of those monitors would be nice. Newegg has the 8800 GTs for just $119 right now and that would get you there I believe. Im still trying to avoid upgrading to 9800s or 4870s or whatever and I thought about two 8800s but for just a little more money... You know it just never ends!

The only situation where Aces High II could be run on multiple monitors is via the Matrox TripleHead2Go device.

LMAO
that a typo or you making a funny Skuzzy :rofl

Too dang early.

5:45 AM yeah, I don't see how anyone can get up that early lol. I get mad when the neighbor tears out on his harley at 7 AM even :lol

Thanks Skuzzy, I'll be dusting off the old piggy-bank to stash my loose change,( I checked at the store, $300 for the "TripleHead2go" off the shelf. plus I need a third monitor.)

*edit* Only because I've always wanted to buy this for flying AH2 http://www.seamlessdisplay.com/products_radius320.htm (http://www.seamlessdisplay.com/products_radius320.htm)

Seemless Display Radius 320 = NICE!
NICE! = $15,999.00 MSRP :O
I think the $900 for 2 more 22" and Triplehead2go is quite a deal now! :aok

So... they write code to use an obscure product by a company that hasn't put out a viable gaming card since before Y2K... and don't even bother to work up support for dual SLI setups that are very common? That means the quad SLI board is totally out of the question also...
Seriously... what was the thought process behind this decision? It makes no sense from a business or gamers standpoint.
Why not code support a Nintendo Powerglove next?
-
indy007, no company has control over support for SLI. NVidia is the one who controls it and they have created an SLI profile for Aces High II. They have had it for some time now. If SLI does not work, it is not anything we can fix. If it does not work for the TripleHead2Go, only NVidia can fix it.
There is absolutely nothing in the application/game that can do anything to support SLI configurations. That is all in NVidia's lap.

I think money may have changed hands here.... :noid

Sorry Skuzzy, I used the wrong terms. What I'm referring to is simple PCIx slots. I've had multiple video card pc's for years and run multiple monitors a bunch of times. Done it with AGP+PCI cards, done it with dual PCIx, and played on a quad PCIx gigabyte mobo. Dual DVI ports are standard on pretty much every video card now, and dual PCIx is common too... so pretty much anybody with the extra hardware can run up to 4 monitors right now, with support built into windows.
Thanks to the latest updates from Lead Pursuit, I've even run Falcon 4: AF with the MFDs split out into extra monitors.
Now... granted, I only know of 3 games that actually support that setup correctly... but why go with a limited use Matrox component instead of the existing support? Is it that crappy? A lot more people would have the opportunity to go multi-monitor without the extra expense.
I'm happy for any kind of multi-monitor support... I'd just prefer the option that I can use right now without dumping another $300 for a toy I'll only use for AH2. It's not the first time, won't be the last... but man... is it really necessary when other flight sims don't need it?
edit: and any hope for an output file yet? I'll write an interpreter myself in C#. I've got Phidgetts laying around, and the blueprints for a motion cockpit. If so... I know what the next project to hide from my fiance is...

The support for Matrox required absolutely no work for us. It is a natural extension of the new widescreen support we added.
Supporting more than one monitor on a video card is not transparent at all. I am not even sure it can be done in one DirectX window. It would probably have to be done via multiple windows. That could kill the game performance. Not sure though.
