All I can say is "well duh"  spend more than a few days here and you'll need a drink, especially when dealing with some of the people that have moved here

Keep Austin weird!

It was the place to go back in the day.

Quote
The CDC's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Survey last year found that 61.5 percent of residents said they had at least one drink in the past 30 days.

But it was the number of drinks per day that put Austin at the top of — or perhaps the bottom of — the bar. Nearly nine percent of people surveyed said they had at least one drink per day for women, two for men.

A whopping 9 percent? Seriously, that's nothing. Good for you.

I'm in Austin now.  6th Street was fun yesterday.

Going to catch a Round Rock Express game tomorrow.   :rock

Hiya Airscrew :salute   Good to see you.  You ever hear from Rthus or Badr any these days?

Your Austin is probably like our Pensacola/Fort Walton Beach/Destin area back in the day.  We'd drive over there from Alabama to party.  Last time we went we chartered a bus.  I brought a bottle of 151.  That is nasty stuff. :lol

Austin sounds like it might be a ciudad turista.  Is it like the New Orleans of Texas, everyone go there to party?  Sounds like it could be a rough place, what with everyone drinking and all.  Guess if you live there you know what to watch out for.  I stopped going to bars many moons ago.

Mix liberals (anything goes college folks) with booze, and you get records. ;)

Austin has been a party town for as long as I can remember. UT is a big reason why.

I don't know how I missed Coyote Ugly yesterday.  We're just back and had a blast.  No cover and we had a handfull of business card coupons that got me a crown & coke and my copilot a beer for a grand total of $6 per round.  We hit 3 places tonight up the road from the HGI and paid nary a cover and played some free pool for 2 hours while watching the cowboys game.

I like this town  :aok

There was a time when Austin was the best kept secret as a destination in Texas.  Then the 80's hit and it was all over.
