Title: Text
Post by: BiPoLaR on August 09, 2008, 05:53:52 AM
I noticed lastnight SkyRock and i were talking on squad text in different arenas. His was saying blue and my was saying orange. He was in orange and i was in blue. The text seems to be confused.Which confused us.

In the last few days I'm getting text messages on channel 4 "squad" that are not meant for me. I'm part of a SEQ Squad for Rangoon and now I'm occasionally  reading squad messages on channel 4 during FSO, while being in MA myself (and, of course, in a different squad there)

I noticed the same thing. Seems the hosts are labeled incorrectly.

Channel 4 text is primarily intended to allow squad communications between EW, MW, LWBlue, and LWOrange.

It does however transmit to all arenas.  The DA, TA, and SEA have separate squads, and this is where it starts to act funny.  If a person is a CO of squads in multiple arenas, members in a secondary arena squad may get traffic from the MA squad channel and vice-versa.  It is really not consistant though.  TC is CO of the TA Trainers squad, some see radio traffic from his MA squad, while others never have.

I reported this a year and a half ago, and the feedback was to the effect of, yea that's the way channel 4 would behave under those circumstances :)
