Title: Widescreen on 4:3 monitor?
Post by: SkyGnome on August 09, 2008, 12:27:19 PM
Will the new widescreen system allow the increased field of view with a 4:3 monitor?  I'd happily take black bars on top and bottom for the enhanced field of view.  Kinda a dissadvantage to the 4:3 owners otherwise. ;)

Dont think a 4.3 screen would let you go wide fella.........think it may well hamper rather than help.

Yes, it probably will.  I have a widescreen now and run AH at a lower resolution which places it directly in the center of my screen at a 4:3 aspect ratio with black borders all around it.  I see no reason to belive it wouldn't work the other way as well.

You just have to disable scaling in the graphic card control panal and make sure you're using a DVI cable.

There's been a pretty big disadvantage to widescreen users, in that until the new version we haven't/won't been able to see some of our instruments. Deal with it ;)
