Several times as of late I have been followed to my home base by folks I shot down. Happened just yesterday. I killed a couple of N1K1s and then cut out for safer harbor. They were picks, nothing glamorous. The rascals felt revenge was in order so they followed me for over a sector to my home base. I was in an f41d. Since I couldn't land with them on my tail. I climbed from the deck to about 6k. Now they were somewhat clever. One stayed low to keep E and gain on me while the other climbed. I saw this and took it into account. I then dragged them into my base ack to tenderize them a bit (I am shameless). Finally they had to pull out of the ack or die in it. Which gave me just a bit of room to put some combat maneuvers into place. I had seen One N1K1 turn a couple of times while the other grabbed. I figured the one that turned probably had used most of his e. So I pulled him up a little and then swooped on him pinging him some. For some reason he just dove into the ground. Well that left one. I started to feel a little bit more confident. Still though, wow was I low on fuel. The other N1k1 and I got into it. Yeah I know the fu1d does not turn or handle as nice as a N1k1. However, I was coming up from finishing his bud and he was coming down at a pretty good rate. Good time for the hammer I think. So I tried that and almost got him. I think if I had just a little more skill I would have had him. In fact we made a couple more passes and almost had him again. I think I should have used a notch of flaps. By the 3rd pass my e was gone and the stall buzzer was ringing loud so I dove out and dragged him through the ack on the field. He took some hits but insisted on staying on my six. By this time I think RPM or CPM upped on the base along with another and they both got involved (Thank goodness) Thanks fellers! I had about 30 seconds of fuel. They then took care of the smoking N1K1 and I landed safely. albeit at a very odd angle to the runway and between 2 buildings. Now this is not the first time this has happened in recent times. I had an f6 do this while I was in an f4U4. Did the same thing, dragged him into the ack and then pounced on him while he was avoiding the ack. I pinged him some but he really ran out of gas from being hit by the ack. A few weeks before that a Spit16 followed my F41d home for about 2 sectors. I realized that since he upped from a base about 1 sector from where I attacked ( I love to Jabo) that he probably was low on fuel. I had pinged him at the attacked base. Sure enough by the time he got to my base he started falling behind. I turned to get him LOL. He augured.
So for those who follow me home be forewarned I will drag you through ack, I will drag you to my comrads. For me I normally don't seek revenge.
Anyone else seeing a lot of this?

Depending on the situation they killed me (vulchers usually), i would, and have in the past chased people home and killed them/vulched them on landing. Trick is to make them think they are safe to land, then buzz in and kill them as they are too slow/on the ground so they can't evade.
Revenge is sweet :)

Last night on Compello the Nit hoard was working over the 3-4 Bish defending that entire side of the map. I was one of those 3-4 most of the night.
So at one point nits were going after our zone base. I upped a base back, grabbed some alt and managed two kills. There were only 2 other Bish over the base and a full red dar bar so I climbed back up waiting for the rest of the big dar bar to show up.
Pretty soon I get BnZ'd by a 190 but as I turn onto his six he dives away and I decide to hold alt. A few minutes later there's a co-alt F4U and the 190 is back, this time with an alt advantage. Then I notice that there are more behind these, all with 18K+ and now I'm the only Bish left.
Deciding I wanted to land my kills rather than get ganged and was on my final fuel tank I turned for home. The 190 and the F4U plus another followed. I put it into a climb and kept going, turning SE toward another base.
A full sector and a half later they were still on my six at 32K+ but were no longer in icon range. My fuel was on it's final fumes and I still had a sector to go to get home.
I put it into a dive and was shaking/buffeting worse than I ever have as I desended. As I approached the deck there was a slight hill in front of me so I dipped below it, then pulled the nose up and slipped it until I lost all that speed and ditched successfully.
The three cons (190, F4U and C205) continued to the base I had been headed for, now at only a few K over the deck. The 205 was killed in the ack. I upped a Wirble and got the other two. :)
Now there were some guys desperate for a kill but I guess when the odds are 105 to 4 you go for whatever you can huh?

Yeah I get revenge. The best revenge is when they run to the boards and post about it. It let's me know it really upset them. :aok

Getting hunted and revenge killed is part of the game. If you're a "known" player in a conspicuous plane wreaking havoc in the same area for awhile it won't be long before you have a posse after you. It's really kind of fun, a lot like the Wild West. What's even more fun is continuing to kick their arses in spite of their best efforts to kick yours. That's probably one of the most satisfying things in the game. It's easy to do this if you understand the psychology of revenge in the game. It's an emotionally based reckoning sought purely to assuage a deflation of ego. The result is the revenge seekers are not thinking rationally, therefore it's very easy to manipulate them into undoing themselves, which of course makes them even more emotional and irrational..

Its the new tweenie gheyness. Must be some sort of jolly had following a group of strat bombers back to base and killing them while they are wheels down on landing. Especially after partially surviving a 1-2 hour flight done right (not avoiding radar, not flying like a dweeb).
I hold it akin to using dogs for deer, or mass netting fish for sport. Must be the accomplishment appreciation levels in life have fallen that far I guess. Just watch this thread, more tweenies will chime in.

Happens often Getback. Here's my scenario.....
Flying in a Spit 9 against a Jug with an alt advantage. I was low on fuel and heading back to my base. I typed to the jug pilot on 200, "I'd love to fight jug pilot, but I have no fuel." I lower flaps and gear only to get shot while landing. The jug pilot typed back on 200 "You should have brought more fuel."
Now you could look at this two ways;
It was unsportsmanship behavior on the Jugs pilots part for taking advantage of a helpless pilot in a very vulnerable situation or
You can send jabs to each other and joke about it. (I opted for the latter and sent the pilot a salute.)
In the end, its only a game and I fly for fun.

I'VE BEEN CHASed back to home base like that. thing is, that as poor as my gunnery is, if i have 2 kills, i have no ammo left.
i will at that point drag em into the ack. what i've found though is that if i fly straight through they take very little damage. if once i see they're n the ack, i turn hard, forcing them to turn harder, they take a LOT of damage.

Last night on Compello the Nit hoard was working over the 3-4 Bish defending that entire side of the map. I was one of those 3-4 most of the night.
Me a squadie and 3 others (Maybe you, I dont recall too well) all upped P-51s and held back the Knit horde for like 20 minutes, funny thing was, we werent doing that good, we all just BnZ'd and kept them out of the DAR. The way the hills were, they couldn't do anything but sit there and take it. I managed to land 4 kills and my squadie (Troche) ended up dying with 5. Amazing what 5 people coordinated together can do.
Course, there always was that one 190 Dora that just wanted me dead, almost got me on landing. :)
Course, after everyone landed/shot down, they took it. But it took them about 20 minutes longer to take it than otherwise.

I think most revenge comes from being picked. Nobody likes to be picked. I'd chase em home if I could catch em :)

The truth is that if I've seen some picker shoot down squaddies, I would follow that picker off the map to prevent him (or her) from landing those kills. :aok

I've been hunted down quite a few times by players seeking (and finding) revenge. :D
As long it's not accompanied by natsy PMs or endless insults on 200 it's all fun.
Revenge certainly adds some spice to AH2 :aok

I upped an FM2 flew to a base, popped a LA7 taking off as soon as he cleared the ack, as I RTB, he caught me half way back same guy in an LA7, shot him down again, kept heading home, finally on approach I see the ack start firing.. oh great.. LA7 comes blistering past missing me and gets killed in the ack.. I get proxy..
3 kills same guy same plane.
got PMs from him saying I was a dweeb and he was reporting me to skuzzy.
